The element sheet listing a Double/Triple combination also means a Triple/Double. The rules are just saying that 1 of the jumps in combination must be at least a double and the other must be at least a triple.

Look at the element sheet for the ladies...it also says Double/Triple and does not list a Triple/Double.

I still can not find his SP in You Tube. Does anyone know that ?

But I’m still aware of the final result, being top in SP , it gets more pressure and skated in last also. And it often failed at the end. I hope he will make it.

I watched Jeremy's SP on youtube and WOW! He had to fight for the landings a bit but at least he stuck them out! I love his program, it's a thing of beauty. I hope he can hold it together for the LP, I'd love to see him win.

Jeremy's SP is my favorite of the US men this season so far. I hope he lands the jumps because the rest is solid. I liked Carriere's also. Much more musical, though the sit spins need to sit lower.

Thanks Marine - I missed him this morning. Got up late for that early skate. I think what makes Jeremy so glood, is his musicality. That music was so much gloom and doom yet he skated to the characteristic of it and his timing was impeccable. BTW, that text book 3lutz x 3T was super, Watch for the quad in the LP.

Thanks! So in essence, it's just that the tech panel is better qualified than I am to determine what constitutes a "clearly" intentional 2A? I can see where it might be subject to interpretation in some cases.

If you take a look at Lysacek's LP from SA, you will see a 3A < where he rotated most of the way to a triple but was short just over a 1/4 turn on the landing. (I think it was the second one that got the carrot). Sometimes a skater will be intending to do a jump but the body pops out after one or two rotations in the air (like Zhang did on the 3Lz in the LP at SC - she popped to a single) and while it is unintentional, it is still a clean single or double jump and will be scored as such.

Just watched Jeremy’s SP.

This music reminds me of the wonderful Denkova / Staviski ‘s Olympics performance.
My overall artistic impression of his performance is that his artistry improved a lot since two years ago, and has some interesting parts.

I like him and he is one of the most interesting skaters for me.
But honestly, in my eyes, still not polished yet. In the middle of the program, when the music becomes more dramatic and passionate, I think he could show more dynamic expression with music. All his movements are same soft tone same beat movements, not much ups and down. His mind may be feeling with music , but his body is not well handling it in some parts.

How he uses his shoulders might be also causing this, looks like he is over-using his arms and doesn’t look polished and well balanced artistry. So if he could fix that part, it would be more beautiful to watch. I look forward to seeing his LP.

Kristoffer got only a level 1 on his last spin and not-so-great PCS. High 5s to low 6s. His 3F got a !, but that only cost him .20.

He lost very much on that combo, maybe 4 points. Then he would have been 4th instead, not 6th as now.

I loved Verner the best. He has such a great energy and is so entertaining, as always.

Carriere had good, sharp jumps. The way he ended his program was somehow interesting. He did not hold the ending pose so that I just did not think that that was it. He looked a bit slow and lacked energy. Possibly nerves?

Loved Jeremy. As expected, he was very beautiful.

Loved Abbott. Loved him. Really loved him. The costume was ... nice? Looked like a Johnny-costume + one of those classical Ballet swanlake costumes. He looked very tiny in it. I hope he isn't scared of him leading the field as Ponsero was last week.

I liked his costume. A typical princy one with puff sleeves that Urmanov was also wearing. Although I couldn't see it well via YOUTUBE, he seems to have had a wing that I've been familiar with through Johnny's and Takahashi's costumes. The difference is that, however, he had it on pants, giving volume around his hips, which was a bit interesting. This season, Johnny also had a short skirt similar to that one. Perhaps they work together?

I just thought of this when I watched his SP from Worlds before (on my iPod before I go to sleep. Quite a silly habit, I know, but I love it so much). The PCS he got today were the highest he ever has got. 31.15 compare to 30.54. The TES was of course better in Worlds, almost 5 points, and that's for the bad combo.

Hey, what the?! Did they change the base value of the 3A? 7.50 in Worlds and 8.20 in CoC. Please, someone explain.

I love his beautiful skating!!!

But I have two concerns.

First, I do not know if this is just me, but seen via YOUTUBE, he looks a little slow. I wonder if I get such an impression because he is so tall and dancing so softly all the time. In reality, he gets a high score on skating skills so that I guess he is not slow if you see him skate in person. I'd appreciate it if anyone has any input on this matter.

Second, it sometimes feels as if he did not stretch enough. His moves are very soft and graceful and go so well with the music. But his moves sometimes look a bit unfinished. I do not know why I get such an impression. He does extend his arms, neck, and head into all directions and his moves have really a lot of variations. But I still get an impression that he does not stretch. Is this possibly because he is very slightly hunched? For example, Shawn has much shorter legs and arms than Jeremy but I still see better lines in him, possibly because he has an extremely good posture.

Regarding the above two points, I actually got similar impressions on Jeremy's LP last season, but not on his SP. So these impressions may be more to do with the music.

In any case, I look forward to seeing his LP! Hope he can win this comp.

What? You spend more time on these forums than me and you missed this? Even I knew that they did some rulechanges after the congress in June.

Thanks everyone for clarifying the rules for me. When this season is over I might be a little more enlightened about rules, pointcounts and such. I've never really read those judges score sheets before, but it's kind of interesting to see the result on paper (since I do not have the eye to catch it when I watch unless someone tells me). I'm gonna start reading about the jumps in my program from worlds again so I can learn to see the difference between the jumps.
