Mia Risa Gomez

Mias new SP dress, and it’s designed på Emmi Peltonen!

I don’t know yet what she is skating to, ISU bio is not updated. But she posted already in May that she was making a new program and looks like Sondre choreographed it. I’m assuming for the SP and I think it’s likely she is keeping last seasons LP.

Mia hasn’t been posting much this summer but there is some photos of her in Switzerland in Champery camp this summer with her club mates from Asker. She also attended a camp in Kitee, Finland. Unlike the last couple of summers, it seems like she didn’t do Peak Ice Camp this year.

A bronze for Mia at Budapest Trophy 🥳 Congratz! That also gives her some good ranking points on the way.

Looks like pretty solid start for Mia this season scoring 154 here and 161 in Beijing. She had some small mistakes, so the scoring potential is even higher.

According to the Skating Fed, Mias next competition is Cup of Innsbruck in a month, and then followed by a late Challenger in Poland.

Congratz to Mia with her first Challenger medal ever 🥳 🥉 What a huge accomplishment. Not just that, she is making history for Norway as the first Norwegian skater to take a Challenger medal.

Mia is on a strike here - earning 3 international medals in all her 3 last competitions, the last one only a week ago :eek2:

She can now take some well deserved rest, and then there will be Nationals in 2 weeks :love3:

Congratz Mia with a silver medal at Nordics Open with a total score of 167.22 :love2: 🥳 Mia skated once again a very strong and almost clean FS with a total score of 114.52 and a TES score of 62.45.

Except for Olympic Qualifier and Euros, Mia has got a medal in every other competition she has competed in this season.

Wow! Did she say if she had an idea of incorporating it, at least in her Free where it would make such a difference? Of course I hope that she can have it in her Short Program too!
That is a very good question. IIRC she already said two seasons ago she wanted to try it in competition, and had already been attempting it in practice for a while before that. I think it was when she was coached by Agnes Z. However that didn´t happen. Sometime after Worlds that year she was injured for a little bit, so I guess between that and changing club and coaches she went back on that goal for a bit until the right time and adjustment were made.

I think she said in the interview after her free at Euros that her plan forwards is to work on her technical layout in her programs? So I do think she is going to add on her BV a little more. She also has posted more then once the last weeks doing 2A-eu-3F combo, so my guess is she might already try it next week at Sonja Henie Trophy instead of the 2A-eu-3S. I think she specifically has mention she wants to add one more flip in her free, so I think that might be the combination.

She does usually start her FS with 3Lz-2T combo now, so it seems it could have been intentional to add 3Lz-3T later. Maybe she will both try 3Lz-3T and 2A-eu-3F next week?

She could possible also try the 3Lz-3T in her SP next week at Sonja Henie Trophy, but if she is not planning to do it at Worlds and rather have the 3T-3T instead, I don´t think she will change up the layout so shortly before Worlds before changing it back again. Might be safer to try it in the free.

There is going to be a free livestream for Sonja Henie Trophy next week, so I will be watching it :)
