Mikhail Kolyada

I cannot watch the men's SP competitions right now, but by checking the live results, wow, Kolyada did his job at just the right time: 89.66! I am too excited to say a word... :yahoo::hap85::hap10:

I know he doesn't have a lot of cred with the judges, but I would have him in fourth place at least, even if I wasn't slightly biased. Oh well, he did the best he could and his score was more fair than I had anticipated (others not so much, lol), so it's not a bad place for him to be at all.

YES YES YES YES YES!! Oh boy, that was amazing!!! TES51.06 is HUGE with all level 4s again. I'm so over the moon right now! Wow! He changed the course going into 4T-3T (the way he did at the first St.Petersburg comp. this season) and it seems it worked. Hope he can relax a little despite being the final group, he should be very proud of himself!

SP interview:
https://youtu.be/cXOdo17hMfE?t=209

According to the Japanese translation I found, he said something like:
"I skated well at the Russian Nationals too but now I updated my PB internationally. I was nervous but I tried not to think about anything and did what I was supposed to do. Thank you for supporting me, the fans' support makes me easier to skate. I like this rink and this town. They gave me a good score."

I think in terms of performance, he held his own against the top 3 men in the competition today. Obviously his lack of credentials hurt him a bit since he deserve slightly higher PCS. Hopefully, he can nail the quad in his FS :hap10:

So he'll skate first in the final group. I think that was the best choice he could have!

- Feeling like after any event. The same excitement, the same people, the same judge ... All the same, - said athlete.

- But you're five points improved his sizn Best.

- I always say that in the beginning it is easier to ride. Mash, I took the ice and everything.

- How long before the World Cup held in the United States?

- Two weeks. We arrived March 14 in the United States. Nina Mikhailovna Moser conducted joint collection. Thanks to her huge, it invited all organized. I got used to the rink, because in America is less than the size of the rink, the American time. And the organization was very good.

- What was the mood at his first World Cup?

- Good, Battle. I tried not to think that this is the World Cup.

- But with what feelings came out on the ice, after all, such a large skating rink, public ...

- With a good drive. I Feel: "There, there now will be!"

- But and rolled. By the end of today's men's competition is still time, that he intends to do?

- I want to look at the guys. Yuzuru (Chania), Fernandez, Shoma Uno others. Many I generally have never seen, sitting on the platform.

- But you beat Shoma Uno.

- It's been a long time, three years ago. Now everything is different.

OMG OMG OMG!!! Our grumpy cat puppy quirky prince DID IT!!! :hap93::hap93::hap93:

And he didn't just land his jumps, he also sold the heck out of that program. Aww, I just love his skating so much, watching it made me so happy

Going first in the last group in the LP is definitely the best option for him. I just hope he can keep it together and skate similarly well, he deserves to be among the top guys. I mean, going from first group in the SP to last group in the LP, how amazing is that?!

(I'm sorry, I'm all over the place and rambling on and on..."xD I better go to bed now and try saying coherent stuff tomorrow  )

Congratulations!!! Just wanted to say your boy did such a great performance!!! it was wonderful to watch I'm very happy for him (and his fans). Amazing jumps, that quad was beautiful! and the interpretation was so charming. He keeps getting better and better, he certainly deserves to be up there with the top ones. Hope he can skate even better on the LP.
:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I knew this kid was special when I watched his Euros skate this year for the first time. I'll be in the house Friday and I was looking forward to seeing him, but I sure as heck wasn't expecting him to be in the final flight!! I'm delighted!

The superior Russian made it! :hap57: I'm so happy he will skate in the last group! That's a great chance for him! :hap10:

EDIT: I need to see some Plushy commenting this event & fanboying on Mika as we are

He skated well and he looks humble to learn, but I hope he grows to have more stylish style next season with more mature custom. He has potential to be top 5.

Congratulations, Mika! How well he did - I hope he can do as well in the free.:) (Our TV was showing commercials, and then cut into his skate, so I missed the first part - to my chagrin; but his skate was great.:))

ahhhhhh he was so good!!! congratulations for an amazing SP and hopefully LP will be equally amazing too! he was selling that program from beginning to end , esp during stsq  can we add "flirty" to his ever-growing nickname?
i wonder if/how his peformances will affect his votes for TCC, i would love to see him there :sad21:

I'm afraid he's too far behind Kovtun & Bychenko. But I hope he will be selected for WTT next season :)

EDIT: Kovtun made it a little hard with his SP score, but I think there is a chance for Russia to get 3 spots in next season. Of course, they both need to skate perfectly, and some other skaters not so much...
