I am like that about most of my faves, tbh. I do get disappointed from time to time, but I think I learned a lot during the Yulia decable. Now I try to pace myself better.

On another note, looking forward for a translation of Misha's story. Maybe it'll be a good thing for him to take a time off, especially if it's to treat something he conversely doesn't have.:think:

Honestly, if he can’t compete, then this is just the universe telling him this isn’t his season and he needs to take better care of himself But it sounds like he’s already realized that, so no use saying, “I told you so.”

I realised it was just the reality, about the fact that all this community was so afraid. Truly, I do feel sad, what scares me the most is the doubt if this is only temporary or it can have consequences. Sad he can’t skate at Nationals but I want him to recover as soon as possible and no matter if he has to desist the rest of the season, over all his health is the most important matter. I thought the same, but I think we a just getting bitter about stuff in here. Better to hope fo the best expecting the worst, and not care about the rest.

Do you think he’s trying to power through Nationals so he can skip Euros? That would probably require a great result on his part at Nats, though. If he defends his title (it feels ridiculous even typing that....he has no business attempting such a thing, even if he probably still has the capability), then maybe the Fed would let him sit out Europeans. He could maybe do it with a silver at Nats, depending on how the rest of the field looks.

Or maybe I’m just underestimating Misha’s ambition and overestimating his strategizing abilities

The most likely thing is that they were told if Misha doesn't compete, no Euros/Worlds for him, so he has nothing to lose (except yet more of his health, I suppose). From what has been said on Misha's VK it's not been Valentina's decision to send sick Misha to competitions. She wouldn't want to endanger his health if it was up to her but a certain skater must think he knows better.

Those are surprisingly few and far between. Because really, he bothered to invent a disease in August to prepare the ground to fake a hospital stay before Nationals

I am kinda, no actually, very angry about his behaviour between August and now, but what can you do? This isn't even the Olympic season where you could understand say Aliev continuing to compete to retain his chances for an OG spot. Or Zhenya insisting she is all better now the moment she could hold herself upright on the ice. But why this season?

He didn't fake an illness for five months, he "faked" it in August and then kept on insisting it is all better now. I hate when skaters, well, flat out lie. Zhenya did it last season but at least it was for the Olympics. Now it suddenly dawned on him you actually need to treat yourself in time.

He may still not make it, Zhenya insisted she would participate until the last moment. I just hope he doesn't make it all the way to the SP and have to withdraw after it, which will be the crowning moment of idiocy that is this season. The really stupid thing is that he seemed better in Zagreb at least with regard to coordination issues. He probably went because he was feeling a bit better. And it was going there that most likely triggered the exacerbation. One positive is that at least now people will not be quite as likely to accuse him of having no character.
