Mirai Nagasu

In a recent episode of The Skating Lesson, Dave Lease said that she will get the FS and Bradie gets the SP, unless I had them mixed up. That's not set in stone though, and who knows if they decide to substitute an ice dance team instead, leaving only one lady to skate both team programs.

That's interesting if it happens that way. Bradie's SP is more spohisticated than her FS (and music popular to Korea) so maybe usfsa wants to put out that more polished and popular Bradie first. If Mirai skates to FS she might have a chance to work out the nerves a bit and if she landed the 3A and overall skated well, this could be a real plus. Lot of ifs for Mira but putting Bradie in both programs is alot of pressure for a new star.

Excellent points, especially with Bradie's SP likely getting a warm reception from the Korean audience (assuming she skates cleanly). Would LOVE it if Mirai NAILS the 3A in OG.

I hope Mirai will get to skate in the team event - more than likely (fingers crossed) US team has a chance to medal and I would like for her to have an Olympic medal. But the chance of using substitute for ladies will only happen if Nathan skates both programs. I have a feeling that there will be substitute for Ice dance, all three teams are good (neck to neck) so I don't see one team skating both programs.

Repost from U.S. ladies thread!

The Daily Mail featured an article as well -this one includes some nice pics of Mirai's parents as well as her boyfriend: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/ar...ns-travel.html

Part of me hopes Mirai is picked for at least one phase of the team event ( I'd prefer the FS for her) but I'll understand if she's not picked. It can't be easy for Nathan to skate 4 programs within four days (I think the men's event starts that soon). I WISH for pity's sake they'd hold the team event AFTER the singles/pairs/ice dance events!

Whatever happens, with nothing to lose, I hope that Mirai skates full out, enjoys her Olympic experience and has no regrets! :luv17: And then - on to Worlds!

Mirai's Instastories the last couple of days are so cute. She's arrived in South Korea and is at the Olympic Village, after picking up her swag and ceremony clothing from sponsors. She gave a quick tour of her dorm room (she's rooming with Madison Hubbell, who I think is arriving after her) and is so excited to be there!

You can tell she is not taking this for granted and enjoying every minute. Love seeing her so happy!

I want to know what's going on with the team event and whether she will be doing the free skate. I want her to be on that team and get a medal!

Rumors seem to have it that Bradie's doing the SP and Mirai's doing the FS in the Team Event...

Huh, that's strange, I wonder why it's not the other way around. As long as she gets a medal though...

What happens if she lands a 3A in the Team Event? Will it still count towards her goal of making history as the only US lady to land a 3A in the Olympics or will we have to wait till the individual competition?

It will count. It's an ISU event.
