Misha Ge

All the hard work will finally pay off. Even though he cannot make any breakthrough in his skating career, Misha will surely grow into an excellent choreographer by his own efforts in the foreseeable future. The skating world needs fresh blood to break some monopoly, so that more better but less expensive choices can be offered to skaters.

I do think he's done well in his skating career - for a while it seemed as if it had stagnated a little; and even though he was entertaining to watch, competetively he seemed stuck in one place. And then - he really pulled his socks up. Came out with a really solid 3A when in the past I never used to trust any jump of his. He had his troubles last season, but still... I think he has more to give competitvely; even if he might not be World medal threat material. But for sure I think his transition to a post-competitve career will probably go much smoother than for many others - he's already started to work in and interest himself in other sides of the sport.

That cool moment when you work in the gym and @JohnnyGWeir and @EvgeniPlushenko walk in, good to see them in Beijing on AOI

(Note: Since Johnny & Plush are his two idols, seeing them together like that must be extra cool.:))

None can't blame the French embassy for the case as Misha should've submitted required documents on time. He seems to learn a lesson from the unfortunate experience as saying about how to go through 4 visa processes within a very short period of time.

How could he submitted the required documents sooner if they were not provided to him? How can he submitted something he literally does not have?

Relax. You seem to know more than I do. You can tell me how come he was invited this time if the same GP event would have an intention to "sabotage" him last season. That doesn't add up. Everyone invited to the event last season didn't have visa issues like Misha had. All I heard about the case was that his belatedly submitted documents to the embassy did prevent him from going to TEB. I don't know whether the problem stems from relationships between his representing country and France. Even if he had been in a difficult position for submitting the documents on time, that is not hardly the embassy's fault at all. He could've firmly urged the event organizer to send the documents him sooner then.

He was waiting for documents that he needed in order to apply. Also his situation was a bit odd in that he was traveling to I think it was Sofia to China and then to TEB... all in three weeks... so it was not a normal application process. His submission was made as soon as he had the items he needed to make the submission as best I understand it. Also not everyone needs to get a Visa to travel to France... so of course they did not have Visa issues like Misha...that is kinda a given.

Maybe he could have done things differently, but frankly I think others involved likely could have as well... can't the blame be spread around as a general SNAFU?

Thanks for the explanation. According to your statement, that case has nothing to do with any ill-intention from the involved parties. The situation seems to be just unfortunately out of a normal process. Of course countries with a big federation would have accumulated forms to handle this kind of issues easily. I think other than visiting tourists, all skaters may need visa for work or performing even if they just stay in few days. I read some years ago an internationally famous Russian soprano acquired her Austrian citizenship because every time she entered another country, the visa process was so annoying and humiliated her at some point even though she was super famous.

Misha is - and has been for a while - in St Petersburg working with Team Mishin. I've copied several of his tweets into the Team Mishin thread.

This tweet seems as if it might actually pertain to his own training/progress?

Had a full SP test-skate in Mishin group today with 4T and 3A. Though just start getting in shape, but was fine run.

And this?

Appreciated of coaches and coach/friend Artur Gachinski good feedback on all round skate and program preform today.

But I'm not sure if he's referring to his own program - or the programs he's choreographed for others. But regardless, I thought it might be of interest to Misha fans.

ETA - Oh, yes, I almost forgot - there's also this article about the work Misha did in Tartu:
