Miyu Honda

Soul searching? I have a lot of respect for this 13-year-old young lady who manages to strike a balance between show business (which is kind of scary the more I learn about it) and skating. She has a high level of confidence and assuredness rarely seen in girls her age and she's very determined to be known as more than an actress who happens to skate :pray:.

She did a lot of soul searching this season, but reaffirmed that she loves both acting and FS. Her goal for next season is to close the gap between her and big sis Marin.

I'm not a big fan of her saying "If I ever come to hate either acting or skating, I'll quit them both." Doesn't seem like a very grown-up way of handling it.

I actually think that's very mature of her. There are child stars who were forced into the industry by their parents and a majority of the time they end up spiraling downwards to a pretty dark place. Same can be said with athletes. They sometimes lose their passion and continue to struggle season after season chasing a dream that is of a distance past because for them, there is no other path. Neither is a way to live life.

She knows what she wants and seems strong enough to go for it. :yes:
 
Perhaps she can be a great actress. Or, less likely, a great skater. But there's no reason to give up on one just because you've grown apart from the other.

Of course, she is in no way bound by anything she's said...

I truly doubt she can represent Japan and compete at JGP level now. Shes the same age as trusova whos jumping 3 quads. Also its hard to compete when u r tired frm show business.

I think she will stop competing nationally when she reaches senior level realistically. Was a fan but I dnt think shes serious about an olympic career in skatin like her sister

I'm curious, is she in any position to get any JPG spots (even one, if a skater cannot attend for various reasons)? I know she didn't last year, so the likelihood of her getting any this year is probably slim to none. It doesn't seem like she's as focused on skating as her sister, I guess?
 
 
Out of all the performances in The Ice this past week, Miyu's program won me over completely. Not really a fan of the singer but she was really selling the program. And also the beautiful axel worth mentioning the distance it covered!!! [emoji7]

I love her ex and sp, not just cute but also powerful. I think miyu is quite good at axel, she rarely miss it compare to other jump.
Really hope she could receive properly training, specially enhance her jump.

Hey congrats! She really improved. Hope she focuses more on skating this year.

many think she is not as 'talented' as her two sister:sad21: even miyu think the same.
that's why I hope she can receive a proper training to improve her jump, jump is her weakest compare to her other skating skills

You are right. I hope she will cut off the actress job and put more time in skating.
I love her ex program this time.
 
I know she's a voice actress and there was one time where Marin said she feared her own little sister because she's good. And okay, now I can definitely see! Dang yeah she's good, I'm always into artistic skaters, I'm a fan just from one program. Go Miyu-chan!!
 
no, marin said she feared her own little sister is refer to sara not miyu.
Miyu not only done voice actress(both movie & anime), but also participate in TV drame, movie, CM, ice show and sport show(as moderator).
And she is only 14.
according to news, she is most profitable japan child actress in 2017 and she already had 8 CM in the first half of 2018.
