Moscow Junior Championships, 3-6 Sep 2018

Was it my imagination or was someone tooting a vuvelzela at the start of Ivanova's program? If so what the Heck  This ain't a hockey match guys.

I am simply speechless. Kamila was beyond brilliant - she was unbelievably great :luv17::love:
She must have received bonus points on all her spins - and deservedly so.
Now I cannot wait for her JGP debut.

It's difficult to watch the rest now.. ;)

Gubanova's program is weird, Gubanova's dress is weird, Gubanova's jumps are weird and Gubanova's skating is weird too.

I'm still ...........

Looks like an Adelina program and dress:shocked:

Although I haven't seen her program, I'm on cloud 9 knowing that Valieva did extremely well!!!
Kudos to Eteri for helping with her jumps!

Since Usacheva has already upgraded her combo and Valieva's doing much better with Eteri, I'm interested to see how Kromykh is doing and why she pulled out from here.

Valieva with solid stable jumps, excellent spins (her flexibility at spins - level of Lipnitskaia), very good all other - new diamond.

Is there a list (in english) somewhere with the final results from the short?
No even in Russian.

Top:
1. Valieva 75.81 (bonus 3) - clean
2. Usacheva 70.80 (bonus 2) - mistake on one spin
3. Kostyuk 67.97 - clean
4. Gubanova 66.26 - one UR
5. Safonova 63.51 - one UR (added one point - maybe bonus, she moved from 7th to 5th)
6. Frolova 63.10 - one UR and step out
7. Starodubtseva 62.81
8. Shabotova 62.32

If substract bonus - get "ordinary" score.

Can someone shed a light - does this competition affect anything for these skaters for the rest of the season? It is so close to the jr test skates. The test skates helped confirm first spots for the JGP, right?

You could receive late JGP spot(like Kostornaia received a year ago not being inviteted to test skates) but now it's not like anyone will receive it. And skaters start building their reputation for upcoming year.

Actually, this competition is used to determine spots at Russian Cup events in juniors. If I am not mistaken one has to finish top ten in order to be given two. But the rules are not that strict. And lots of exceptions have been made in previous years.
But on the whole this is the first step to get to Russian junior nationals for those who do not have JGP events.
