Pairs programs often go big emotionally, and the costumes sometimes match that intensity. Which senior team’s look brings the most drama to the ice this season? What made it stand out for you?

According to ChatGPT:

Riku Miura / Ryuichi Kihara

Free Skate to “Gladiator” — 2026 Winter Olympics (Milan–Cortina)
This remains the season’s most dramatically realized Pairs costume because it achieves total narrative immersion without sacrificing line clarity in lifts and throws. Miura’s custom marble-effect gown (Mathieu Caron) references Roman statuary through veined grey texturing while strategically contouring the torso to elongate her lift positions; the gold accents catch arena lighting at rotational apex. Kihara’s structured tunic avoids bulk through stretch tailoring, preserving shoulder definition in overhead elements. At the 2026 Olympic Free Skate, the cohesion between textile illusion, mythic storytelling, and athletic architecture created operatic scale — not just decoration. No other 2025–26 Pairs look matched this level of dramaturgical unity.

Between there being fewer competitors in pairs than the other disciplines, and that pairs costumes leaning to the functional or the stunning, being asked about most dramatic was a head scratcher for me.

If you asked me whose costume I liked, I liked

Deanna Stellato-Dudek's two costumes by Oscar de la Renta.

Deanna's red dress was quite dramatic!

I also liked Ellie Kam and Danny O'Shea's outfits

I would agree with you @DemTuppesSeine. That beautiful SP dress is stunning. Thankfully, I'm not at the ChatGPT level yet (I would never ever ask AI for a creative decision on what is considered to be dramatic. AI cannot be creative. Sorry @Joe Mendoza, I am not a believer) because if anything I thought Lia and Trennt to be more dramatic in the costuming of Gladiator music. That doesn't mean I didn't like Riku/Ruichi's costumes. I did. Just that they're not so dramatic in my view.

Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava's SP costume is one I will definitely remember as dramatic!

Embedded HTML content
I like wearing catsuits to skate myself, so I could be persuaded to try that one on. If the hairstyle is included, though, those worms crawling down her forehead have to go. I found them a cringe-y distraction and quite yuck.

Here are the ones we have so far for the senior pairs most dramatic costumes for 2025-26. Can you think of more?

Miura/Kihara (Gladiator / FS)
Stellato-Dudek/Deschamps (OLY SP)
Stellato-Dudek/Deschamps (OLY FS)
Kam/O'Shea (Sweet Dreams / FS)
Pereira/Michaud (Gladiator / FS)

Deanna's dresses were both exquisite and captivating regardless of designer. THese dresses/costumes brought back memories of Vera Wang when she was at the top of the heap - pure drama. Bravo Oscar De La Renta.

I voted for Ellie and Danny because Danny actually had a pattern continuing down the side of his leg (vs the usual plain black pants most pairs men opt for)
