may I reiterate that the GP has often proved to be a poor "yardstick" to use for predicting the Worlds. ;)

Maybe, but it is still pretty clear some people are not as strong as I thought they were and others are stronger. Also that people like Denkova/Stayviski, Inoue/Baldwin are done is pretty obvious.

It is kind of a bummer to see so many pick Joubert to win, I am not saying it is a bad pick, it is probably a very smart pick, but it just drives home the fact of how likely it probably is. If Lambiel doesnt win (which looks more and more doubtful, although he has time to maybe get it together by Worlds) I really hope it is Takahashi or Weir winning. No offense to Joubert but I like to see the whole package, not just jumps and power skating.

I have to put Joubert on the top too. He is recovering and might go to French Nationals. By the time of the Worlds, he will be ready. I admire his toughness.

My pick for the Worlds:

1. Joubert
2. Takahashi
3. Lambiel
4. Lysacek
5. Weir
6. Oda
7. Chan
8. Buttle
9. Verner
10.Van de Perren

Lambiel has time to do it. He will do it! He has to do it! He must do it! I cannot imagine of him going off the podium.

Weir and Lysacek will switch places if Lysacek's quad goes bad. I think Weir will have quad in the LP at Nationals and the Worlds, but it's hard to say that it will help his scores. Although, I hope that Weir places above Lysacek.

I understand your feeling. My wish list puts Lambiel on the top followed by Takahashi, Weir, and Buttle. But I believe that a guy with reliable quads will win.

Although Takahashi is planning two quads in LP, Joubert seems to be more consistent. Besides, Takahashi has never been famous for being strong under pressure.

I haven't thought of Jonny as a gold medal contender. But yeah, he might win if others make mistakes and if he lands a quad. That would be an interesting change to see.

Lambiel is SO unpredictable. What's going on with him?

My prediction has at least one of the top europeans doing good. Remember we're not in Japan...I expect Pcs boost for Meier, Poykio or any other finnish doing good at euros and Kostner (as it happened last year for japanese ladies....i.e. very questionable monstruos Ando pcs and over 8 mao's???)

I pretty much agree with Bennett's Ladies list except:

(1) Move Meissner and Nakano to 3rd&4th, drop Ando to 5th.
(2) Insert Ashley Wagner in 8th and drop Meier out.

I don't follow the Men enough to make a Top 10 list.

I dunno. Considering she only slipped up once during the worlds, she really didn't do badly at all. She is (was??) just not in the league that the medalists were in.

It may be time to get someone else ready to lead the US.

Well kimmie won the 06 worlds with a whole different generation of skaters and then next season SMACKED!!!! her in the face with triple axel Mao and Brilliant Yuna. Considering that she hasn't done bad at all with trying to maintain a world crown, improving her artistry, and win a national championships. I have a lot of respect for her.

Lysacek
Weir
Takahashi
Chan
Buttle
Bradley
Carrier?!?!
Ladies:
Kim
Asada
Meissner
Wagner
Nakano
Ando
Kostner

Idk Asada this season has had really strong comebacks with the long but idk..... I respect Kim's talents and I think overall she has the edge over asada. And I want Kimmie do rebound and do well for the u.s. again hopefully she can pull this off she just needs to go back to the drawing board and rework a couple of things like maybe a triple/triple sequence or a triple loop instead of a triple toe thing she does or someone get her to fix her technique cuz if she does it right than it will be awesome!!!!
