Good. I said she should withdraw as soon as I heard she was named to the Junior team. She has been there, done that and needs to get back to healing and training in a good way.

I agree, good call. It's weird that she hasn't been on ice since Nationals, though.. But I guess that's the only way to heal from an injury like that. I'm very happy for Katrina and I hope she grabs a medal (US sweep again!). She sounded very sincere in that quote.

Mirai Nagasu, the 2008 U.S. ladies champion, announced today her withdrawal from the 2009 World Junior Figure Skating Championships, taking place Feb. 23 - March 1 in Sofia, Bulgaria. Nagasu will be replaced by Katrina Hacker, who finished sixth at the 2009 AT&T U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

I think its for the best. I want Mirai to get another medal, HOWEVER she needs to skip out on this medal opportunity to rest her ankle(which has troubled her all season) and skating all the time isnt helping things. I hope she gets some rest, heals, regroups and kiss some major booty next year

I wish her all the best, and cant wait to see her skating healed, and hope she makes the Olympic team next year:yes:
