I’m a little concerned. Apparently, Vincent had a great practice. Hopefully, Nathan will get a better feel of the ice in the next couple of days. I know one can’t avoid the pressure of the moment entirely, but I just want him to relax and enjoy having the wonderful privilege of being there. A place on the team is his under most circumstances, so he just needs to keep that in mind - and take a deep breath.

I don't know if you guys remember, but back in 2010, Evan Lysacek didn't win nationals before the Olympics. The important thing is being able to peak at the right time.

Oh I'm not worried, the practices seemed fine to me. A double lutz during runthru isn't any cause for worry. And he can afford a mistake or two because he'll get showered in all the Nats PCS.

I've never seen Nathan not double during practice. During competition, he focuses hard to fight for a jump during practice, he'll allow occasional pops sometimes if the takeoff is bad - as I assume to protect him from hard falls that are unnecessary. Whilst this is a bad way to train triples, quads are significantly more dangerous.
I have confidence he'll make the jumps work (mostly) in the program, maybe clean or maybe couple errors.

The thing I got to hand it to Nathan is that he still has a way of coming up with new jump layouts that we have never seen before. Keeps us guessing!

Nathan Chen called return to prior seasons' programs "a pleasure. I've been really lucky to work with choreographers like Marie- France and Shae. The content is there .... the majority of the programs are pretty much the same."

Brandon, Amber and Alyssa testing positive. Todd Eldridge at Nathan’s rink testing positive. Also, Nathan still has that nagging “hip thing”. I’m worried for him - and all the others skaters, too. This is just so crazy. I hope all goes well.

Edit: And Gogolev, who trains at Nathan’s rink withdrew from Canadian Championships, though not sure how recently he was in California.
