I'm really happy for Nathan, he was truly able to put out a redemption skate and now he can have a sweet memory of this (first, hopefully) Olympic experience.

I think this will be a sweet first OG experience for Nathan.

Perhaps a little bitter, but it is hardly anything. I don't think it will haunt Nathan BOI (I mean no medal or no Gold).

He made history (many OG Gold medals, how many history making on this scale, Nathan's scale ) and had his Olympic moment, and he is still 18 years young.

Before, I was a little worried that this OG will haunt Nathan BOI (perhaps like the ones that haunted Patrick) but it hardly the case.

I am a very very happy fan right now. And feeling peaceful and a sense of zen.

I still can't grasp how Nathan was able to pull of all the jumps??
I realize it's all mental and about being able to focus and get into a competition mindset aka fight mood, because in theory he "has" the jumps... but how was he able to get it together within a mere day? Especially since I would assume that he didn't sleep well after his SP... I'm amazed...

So was it really just the circumstances/expectations surrounding each of his programs? Would be interesting to know, how he would have skated his FS, if his SP went well and he would have been in a completely different position after the SP... :think:

Yeah, unfortunately no medal, but still made history and proved to himself and the world what he's made of.

I burst in to tears of joy! I'm so happy that he found that fire within him and went for broke! He actually won te FS! I won't do any what ifs, I'm just so happy he went out and skates like we knew he could on Olympic ice. It means the world to me. I love him so much!

All I cared now is that Nathan being invited to Gala.
And have fun for the rest of his first OG experience.
Maybe got a PHOTO or have a chat with the Yuna Queen, that would be the perfect.

The heart of a champion! We all wept in joy and couldn’t stop screaming while jumping up and down after his FS. You are truly once in a generation skater, so proud to witness what you brought to the sport and now this, a golden Olympic moment. LOVE IT!!! Going to be on my DVR for the weekend

Truly he has the heart of a champion! I honestly didn't believe he had this in him after what he has gone through. But did he prove me wrong. I've never felt prouder!
