Nathan Chen

Not that I'm not loving it, but for someone who has only competed as a senior in Japan once (2016 NHK, if I'm not mistaken), his apparently huge popularity in Japan is quite puzzling to me, especially since he's considered one of Hanyu and Uno's main rivals. Maybe they like that he has a very distinctively different style than most of the male Japanese skaters?

This is just my impression, but I feel that lots of Japanese females think Nathan is one sexy dude! Not just in his skating, but also his looks, intelligence, style, and manners. He has enough Asian-ness in him to be relatable, but the right amount of American-ness to be exciting. And it doesn't hurt that his coach used to be Mao's.

They are definitely fascinated with his naturally curly hair. And his deep voice is considered very sexy!

He's definitely attracted JP fans, not only his skating skill, also funny, cute, friendly personality! Let's see Japan Open in Oct, can't wait lol

Nathan must have been doing Bridgestone promo pics/videos because he's chopped off most of his hair.

^^^I'm sure he'll look forward to doing the Japan Open in October. You could see how much fun he was having skating at Dreams On Ice and how he enjoyed interacting with fans.
