Also points for spins and step sequences are reduced as well.
Do you mean their BV? Because those have not changed in the proposal.
Also, the +GOE points have not changed significantly either, at least not for level 3 and 4 elements, although admittedly, the "punishment" through -GOE is bigger than it used to be.
(but thanks to the percental adjustment it's much fairer now for lower-level spins and StSqs, which used to be really out of proportion)
What I find interesting, are the proposed changes for the ChSq... higher BV and a different percentale scale for GOE (higher than the 10 % increments for all other technical elements)... they clearly want to put a lot more weight on the whole skating/performance side of a program.
1) very good height and very good length (of all jumps in a combo or sequence) Nathan okay
2) good take-off and landing Nathan very good
3) effortless throughout (including rhythm in Jump combination) Nathan good
4) steps before the jump, unexpected or creative entry Nathan lacking no difficulty entry in front of Nathan's quad jumps maybe except 4T
5) very good body position from take-off to landing Nathan very good
6) element matches the music Nathan very good
Since when does Nathan have good landings? I don't think so...
Although I would like to say, that most people seem to exaggerate how egregiously bad they are. Because he usually has a few decent landings here and there throughout his programs, and at the same time skaters like Yuzu, supposed master-of-gorgeous-flowy-landings himself, will also have little flow out of some of his jumps as well, and I also see lots of other skaters have scratchy landings too, so I do feel people are too biased and don't fairly assess what every skater puts out on a given day.
Also not sure re "matching element to the music"... sometimes it fits, but I wouldn't say that it's something Nathan clearly cares about and regularly succeeds at.
Nathan had good 3A at OG FS
And at worlds ...
I don't think so...they were ok as in "didn't fall on his face", but they were in no way up to par with everyone else's 3As...
Even skaters that are in no way close to the top men category have 3As that are a lot better and more impressive looking than Nathan's best efforts.
His 3As are hasty, have little distance and height and most of the time the rotation looks pretty out of whack, meaning that to me it always looks, as if he doesn't manage to get in a nice tight air position, the way he does with every other jump in his arsenal.
