Nathan Chen

Just want to say thank you to everyone who responded to my questions and gave me thumbs ups (is 'ups' a word?)! I swear I'm the dumbest in technology and social media for my age of early 20s (Facebook used to be rocket science to me up until a year ago). I swear I am seeing your thumps ups/quoted replies in my dashboard only TODAY and I'm such a softie and so very easy to please that it warms my heart. Especially to @oatmella who actually welcomed me to Nathan's FF! Thank you all so much!

I also don't know if it's the place to share this, (probably not) but it's still somewhat related to Nathan, however loosely so here goes: hubby and I just found out today that we're having a little man. As I've mentioned before, future son will be named Nathan/Nathaniel. With my hubby being an 'Ed' and my real name starting with an 'N', we decided we'd name him Edmund Nathaniel. Mum thinks it's a hokey name combo, but hubby approved of it, even (or perhaps ESPECIALLY) the name 'Nathaniel' because he thinks, someday when our son asks his mum why we gave him the name that he has, I could tell him about "that Olympian kid you loved back in the day who went from near bottom of the pack to 5th place and also went to Yale."

Of course I can't put that kind of pressure on my child by telling him how great his namesake is! But I can't say I'm not tempted. I mean, I was named after a legendary gymnast and even though that did not turn me into an Olympic athlete or even a competent gymnast, she taught me perseverance and to strive for perfection, if anything!

Congratulations! Edmund Nathaniel is a beautiful name!:hap10:

Mamamiia your videos are always the best!

The wait for Jason's score/commercial break was so nerve wracking to watch.

Nike Air Max inspired by shipping boxes: https://sneakernews.com/2018/10/17/nike-air-max-97-bar-code-release-info/

Upon initial observation, the shoe may appear to be little more than a clean fall-styled colorway. However, upon closer inspection it’s revealed to be much more than that. With a large barcode — the type usually used for Nike’s online orders — appearing under the translucent outsole, the shoe may very well be a physical manifestation of a shipping box. Multiple brown and tan cardboard tones appear on the upper, while dark brown detailing arrives on both the small midfoot Swoosh and the top two stripes. The tongue also features a special white and silver striped pull tab, a possible nod to the two-tone tape Nike packages their online orders with. A clean white midsole and gum Air Max complete the color combo, and a stamped “Box Certificate, Memphis TN” hit nodding to the location of Nike’s main shipping warehouse adorns the insole.

I'm currently watching TSL's recap of Europeans with Sandra Bezic and even though it's about Europeans, she's brought up Nathan and his Nationals skate like 3 times (all extremely complimentary, she loved it!!).

Enjoyed Nathan's programs at Nats this weekend. I think that's the best I've ever seen him skate his SP. He looked like he was having fun out there. He did his 4Lz and 4T-3T on my end of the rink, and I couldn't believe how fast he rotates.
