Nathan Chen

Yeah, I also thought it must be a layover.

Also, how the hell did he get better so fast? What type of medication did he take and can I have some of it, please? Last time I felt as sick as Nathan looked yesterday, and I was just going about my usual day, which also included some very low-key, moderate exercise :p, I was so exhausted, I was already drained just walking up stairs.

I thought about choreographers for next season... what if Shae-Lynn did both his SP and FS?
That way she could get creative again with an energetic, fast-paced piece for the short, and do something entirely different for the long? Something a bit more 'epic' where she could take her time to develop a mood and create moments?

Because I'd love to see what Shae would do with Nathan's ability to skate in a more lyrical style too (despite what he said in one of his latest interviews, I'm still gonna assume that he's going to stick to his formula of a more soft, lyrical long program, at least in most parts of it).
Until now we've only gotten modern and cool or playful and cheeky Nathan from Shae. But he's so good at a graceful, more delicate style too, and I would love to see Shae explore that side of him as well.

It seems kind of unlikely that Nathan recovered that quickly - Next To Me and encore was less than 18 hours ago. But if he did, that would be amazing:pray::pray:

I would love to see what long program Shae-Lynn could create for him - and also more efficient, as he would only have to return to one choreographer during the season.

He's still young and developing his own style so it's best if he continues to be exposed to different choreographers, IMO.

Nathan must be a really resilient guy. He looked positively green during the WTT awards, but he skated great in the gala and appeared to be having fun during the team group number. Hope he gets some much deserved rest and recovery time!

Heartwarming to see that there's more color on his face now and does seem to be finally on the mend. :) :) But hopefully this quick bounce back from looking absolutely faint wouldn't encourage the lad from pulling off another season like this. I don't think he would be like Yuna Kim during her final years competing wherein she was out of the grand prix circuit almost (or totally - if memory serves?) all the time, but that seems the healthiest route. It would suck for his fans and the entire skating community to be deprived of Nathan's competitive grit and passion, though.

Glad he's looking better and got a new little layover in Hawaii.

I can't seem him skipping the GP if he won't even skipped WTT lol. Yeah, it's a different situation, but still. Plus he's the 2 time GPF champ. I'm guessing he'd like to make it 3.

You gotta wait until 1:45-2:30 for your selfies. Seems fun.

His schedule this summer is crazy though.

The Ice just announced 3 additional shows in Niigata: 7/30(T), 7/31(W), 8/1(Th). These dates are sandwiched in between the Osaka and Nagoya shows.

Would you expect TV broadcast of Osaka and Nagoya The Ice? Or the Sapporo Prince Ice World?

also... wasn't there something about April 17, didn't Nathan do an interview with a couple of Japanese artists that would go on air or something?

Thank you, sheetz, everyone, for all the news. Thank you in advance for answers to my questions, too. :)

Yes, the major shows are usually broadcast on TV and I don't expect it to be any different for these shows.

I can't believe you remembered the interview because I completely forgot about it! You're right it's scheduled to be broadcast late night on 4/17. Hopefully someone will record it.
