Nathan Chen

I doubt that he had a new EX prepared for Worlds, he was still at Yale at the time. I wish he had a new one now, given that he had the time now, but since he skated Rocketman for COI, I'm afraid it's rather unlikely. :(
I would think he did have a new EX because he debuted Next to Me at last year's Worlds when his schedule was not much different. My guess is that he was asked to perform Rocketman by the show producers.

Crazy to think, but if Peter and the Wolf” gala were of any indication, he might repeat the same FS layout with 3Lo to 4Lo.
He has been more careful during his senior career, he might even move some of the quads to the first half like he did last WTT. Aside from the loop, my guess is a quad toeloop (or two) and maybe a salchow.

Very easy, laid back rocketman. I wonder if this was filmed right after the team event.
That’s what I was thinking as well. I loved the relaxed feel of it. Some of those triples looked like doubles. Lovely performance, but I’m guessing he was bit tired with both Skate America and the Team Event happening within a couple of days of each other. No need to push himself here. His arms seemed longer in this performance. Guessing it was because of the black tee.

Sheets, was he wearing a T with subtle glitter? Loved the extras he put in since he didn’t have to worry about 4 quads.

I noticed that too. 😄 But it wasn't glitter, just dots printed on the fabric with a slight sheen. Probably as far as he will ever go on that front hehe.

FSO forum states there is a pirate video of 4Ax attempt (not 100%, landed on a knee/side). They could not publish it due to legal restrictions.

And then on a Yuzu forum, they found and posted a copy where they are gleefully discussing at how Nathan is a good ways away from landing it. .

Seeing the video, now I know why Nathan says it's a long ways away, but at the same time, it's always exciting/scary to think about what might be coming in the future.

Poor Nathan, tries to be lowkey, and then the entire figure skating world starts gossiping about his attempt.

The video on Planet Hanyu is not the original video, it is extremly blurry and discolored, looks like someone filmed their computer screen with their phone. The original is not as blurry (still not grear quality) and you can see the landing better and can see that he is just a quarter off.

Well, I know the person who took this video doesn’t want to post it in public bc Nathan’s team (maybe Raf?) doesn’t want to show in public, but now..... :drama:

TSL of all people seemed impressed by his attempt and we all know it pains them to say anything nice about Nathan most of the time, so I take it that is was actually pretty good attempt.
