Nathan Chen

Yes ... Kristi Yamaguchi attended SOI tonight (San Jose), and she posted Instagram stories of snippets of performances by Nathan (incl. his quad ); Adam; Karen; Meryl/Charlie; and Ashley.

Sorry, I can't see what is at the weibo link, so I don't know whether it is the same video of Nathan.

Yeah, it's from Kristi's Instagram. Someone uploaded it to Twitter so everyone should be able to view it now.

(It was nice of Rachael to arrange the tour as well, but that was prob. relatively easily done, unless it was something above and beyond a standard admissions tour.)
I would assume he'd be given special treatment as a star recruit. Although it's more realistic for him to be looking at Stanford for medical school.

Throwing back to a fun/cute pre-Worlds photo of Nathan and some familiar rinkmates:

Yes, Nathan seems to be quite good friends with Mariah, Romain, and Sebastien. (And maybe less close to Adam and Ashley.)

More video snippets from Nathan in the SOI San Jose show are at this link (second panel of the album):

(Video snippets of Karen, Ashley, Jeremy, and an SOI group number also at the same link.)

Definitely agree with this part.
Was not suggesting that a photo of them together would be anything new or rare. I just happened to find that one particularly cute and memorable. YMMV.

Good for him! I was wondering why he had suddenly switched from Adidas.

I don't think Adidas ever sponsored him, he just liked their stuff lol Nike probably decided to sponsor him since he's one of gold medal hopes/ rising stars and Nike is always working with Team USA for Olympics, I think.

You're right Adidas never sponsored him. It's just one of the things that lots of Japanese fans associate with him. Some of his fans were even planning to buy Adidas warmup clothes like the ones he used to wear.

Which is why it was important for Nike to sign him quickly. He's been inadvertently been advertising Adidas all this time.

True. Japanese fans appear to be more impressionable than American fans. Some have already switched over to Coke!

It seems to be pretty unusual for figure skaters to be sponsored by Nike. Ashley and Gracie were, but I don't think any men have been. The Ashley/Gracie deals were used as vehicles to connect with female consumers. I wonder how they will try to package Nathan.

Like any top athletes they'll focus on his athleticism (aka quads) and how much training it takes.

Yes and Nathan is well-fitted for the Olympic motto; faster, higher, stronger. :) I guess he will get more endorsements and sponsors from global companies.

He's also good-looking, personable, and "cool" (nonchalant attitude, skateboards, etc). He could easily be a teen idol, or at least make the rounds of the teen-centered award shows and CW/ABC family/MTV teen series

He's still young, but if they package him correctly maybe he could be USFS's answer to Apolo Ohno. Listen to the girl is this video:
