Geez, don't agree with the B. ESP commentators at all. I disagree that the music is too mature for Nathan. In fact, I think he feels the music deeply and you can see it in the way he moves to the phrasing and the highs and lows of the music, and it really resonates with me. Projection and intensity will come as he gets more comfortable with the tech content.
commentators haven't registered with Nathan's FS yet, SP is an instant crowd pleased, everyone will love it right away, which is obvious.
But FS has much more depth, and actually, nobody has ever even heard of the music ever, it will take time for people to digest (and rewatch)
it seems like every commentary for this GP, ALL the commentators has to speak thru Nathan's FS somewhat to introduce the audience the status quo. the same older, Nathan is a jumper but aim for improvement in artistry. This narrative...
Even CBC, yet ignored the really artistic moment of Nathan's FS.
Here is my casual skating viewing friends' reaction, They LOVED Nathan's FS stsq and choreo stsq into spin to ending parts, Yet unfortunately, both CBC and NBC talk thru it jut to feed enough info (unnecessary in my opinion) for the audience.
And my friends all wanna them to shut up and they just wanna just watch those fabulous parts.
CBC though does pointed out the specific great stuff in Nathan's FS than other's very generic commentary. They are much more professional/knowledgable and always has been that way.
B.EURO I think one guy did not warm up to Nathan's SP, but the other guy saw potential just didnot voice it in the chaos of everything.
Of course, Nathan himself needs to polished and do better next time
Like I said before, it will be a up-hill battle for him.
