Nathan Chen

I agree about the black rolled up sleeves for the short. I actually really want him to go minimalist in the FS as well. I watched some of his practice vids where he was just wearing a plain black training shirt and pants. The tighter fitting practice outfits really accentuate his lines and the beautiful nuanced body movement that were somewhat hidden by the looser blouse he wore for the FS. I think a minimalist costume will emphasize the purity of artistry and dance that is kind of the theme of his FS this year.

Too bad we are not getting to see new costumes yet, but I’m soooo excited about SA!!!

Agree 100%. I was actually pleasantly surprised with the simplicity of his costumes this season and thought it accentuated his style and line really well. Honestly, I don't think he NEEDS any embellishments to his costumes -- his skating is embellishment enough, and speaks volumes.

P.S. This sounds really shallow, but besides being totally impressed by his technically brilliant and expressive skating, I have the biggest crush on this guy. He's just so charismatic and genuine. I hope my boyfriend doesn't find out LOL

Thanks for all the information about Nathan that you share, a few days (practically hours) of Skate America, I'm excited to see him again in the rink (even if it's only streaming) Go go go Nathan! :hap10:

I cross my fingers so that the boxes of Kellogs arrive to my country (Peru) and I´m happy that we are already more than 70 thousand followers of Nathan in instagram (a year ago we were not even 10 thousand) :agree:

really looking forward to Nathan's SP performance in particular!:) This is one of my favourite Olympic season programs in FS overall and shows off so well Nathan's growth and embracing his skill in more 'out of the box' way. Wishing him all the best in Lake Placid:cheer:

The latest episode of Ice Talk has Michael Weiss previewing Skate America. In the first few minutes he gives his thoughts on Nathan.

Nathan's JP twitter fans are sending him well wishes using the hashtag #sa2017gonathan

I've noticed that several of Nathan's hardcore fans are traveling to Lake Placid all the way from Japan! This person also went to Rostelecom and uploaded many videos of his practices, so I would assume she will do the same for the SkAm practices which begin today.

According to his planned program content Nathan does not plan to include 4Lo in the FS. His planned layout is 4Lz3T 4F 4S 4T1Lo3S 4T 3A2T 3A 3Lz. The BV of this layout would be virtually identical to the one with 4Lo.

The one I bolded, is this a new one? I haven't seen him done this -- or is it only me since I'm used to see him adding 2T-2Lo or 3T to his 4T? :scratch2:

This all means nothing. Nathan will decide his layout based on his practices. We all just have to wait to find out.

I love both of Nathan’s programs this season but I especially love the SP. it’s not even about the jumps, I just love the choreography and his performance.

Here's a clip showing Nathan's combo spins at the end of the run-through:

Beautiful spin but have to say I'm a little sad that he changed the sit position where he reaches an arm to the back to the variation that he uses in the short program, because the original extended sit position was one of the highlights in the program for me as it shows off his body lines so beautifully.
