super random - but despite his heartthrob status - Nathan seems to be like that cute guy who you have a crush on but then realize when you spend time with him that he's always always on his phone and when he's not on his phone he's still thinking about his phone and maybe it's just really not going to work out, lol

LoL are you trying to convince yourself? Even when he’s not on his phone, he is looking over at others’ phones and maybe ask to borrow your phone with a boyish cheeky smile so you willingly hand it over and then to realize maybe it’s time to call a quit. And then he will still hangout with you from time to time, with his phone. At last his phone consoles you.

I don't think so. A good athlete, for whom the sport is entire life, just can't live without new achievements. It's just psychology. He's on the top of the world, don't think he will stop improving. Maybe he won't deliver 4-4 next season but something tells me he will try it for sure. Maybe even on his own, without Raf

I've seen Shoma doing it... 3A-4T? Or maybe 2A-4T... in practice before some competition... Don't really remember. Then he gave up this idea and didn't perform it in a comp. The only difficult thing about it is that you lose power and speed after you land a triple and then it's harder to jump a quad?

Make sense since the power 4 quad carries into triple is stronger with tighter airspace. Then doing 3A-4T deserves more points in my opinion.

Shoma never planned this combo for competition, he was just jumping it to improve his 4T consistency.

Believe it or not, that's probably the highest rate for any top level coach. Frank Carroll charges that much.

That's kind of shocking to me, it's pretty much the same rate a lot of parents are paying for their tots as far as I know, at least in NYC.

Considering she's been at most or all of Nathan's previous competitions for his 15 year skating career (according to SLC newspaper article), kinda sad if she wasn't present at Nathan's biggest win yet.
It sounds like Rafael may not have given Nathan much of a choice as he has spoken ill of the 'advisors' in regards to what happened at the Olympics, and says in this interview that at worlds, the main thing that made it easier to coach Nathan to a win in Milan was that the 'advisors' weren't there.

I'm personally utterly disgusted by Raf's Russian interviews and how he diss Nathan's mother and brag about it. And as it appears, Mrs Hetty Wang (Nathan's mother) and Nathan took the high road.

Nathan did well in worlds is simply because Nathan is mentally stronger.

There is a fan-made video from Nathan's biggest Chinese fan (I just recalled it at the moment), I think Nathan's mother would love it.

I don't know, but I guess Nathan's mom still accompanied him at Worlds as an supporter but left the competition part to Nathan and Rafael.
Maybe that's why Nathan got the CD wrong in the beginning? His mom no longer worked as his secretary (like every mom would do)?
