Oh Eunsoo is going senior next year? I thought she was staying Junior for another year. Yea, Raf will have his hands full then. Evengia will be the only top ladies skater for Orser (Gabby is trained under someone else at TCC) so that may have been why she went to him bc most other top coaches already have top ladies.

And the Marin/Nathan thing, I just meant that both coaches will have high profile ladies and men on their team for next season and both with many expectations so it’ll be fun to see how it plays out in the singles events. I know there’s pressure for Marin to get results and there’s pressure for Evgenia to not fall off and both are making big moves and big changes to help their competitive careers. It’s an interesting parallel.

Is anyone else hoping for a future David Wilson program for Nathan ?

David Wilson is a genius, he sees different things(unique qualities) from skaters. and very original. So was Nathan, very original. I cannot imagine what kinda sparkles will happend if Nathan works with David Wilson.
Also Yuna is very shy before go to David Wilson, he is the one who made Yuna happy and smile.

but the safe route to do is to start with EX like what shoma is doing rn. Also Yuzuru worked with David Wilson but eventually shift to J-butt and Shae only work with David for EX. Need to consider scoring potential etc.

It'll be VERY interesting to see if Med continues her PCS advantage without her Eteri type programs. Also, will Orser allow her to tano the way she is right now? Somehow I don't see Orser being a big fan of the Eteri school of skating at all.

yes, it is a completely clash,
but I saw the story of Elizabet, and her improvement of SS, she trained with Eteri before, thus my hope on Med.

I find David Wilson hit and miss. Sometimes he’s great and other times...ehh. But I guess that goes for most choreographers. I wouldn’t mind him doing a routine for Nathan tho.

The only thing concerning about Evgenia is her injury. I’ve heard it’s more severe than they’ve let on so idk, hope for the best but this will be a test for sure.

but the hit ones with David Wilson are masterpieces on a very different levels. Not gonna mentione Yuna,
Use patrick as an example, his David Wilson programs are very artistic comparing to his Lori programs.

@oatmella if you wanna learn the difference between David Wilson and Lori. Watch Patrick's masterpiece programs (from both choreographers).

^ I guess that’s where our tastes differ lol, particularly with Patrick but I think a lot of my problem with Patrick is that he messed up so much and rarely had clean programs that it disturbed the flow for me and I couldn’t fully enjoy them. Watching his competitive skates were very frustrating for me personally.

@oatmella Wakaba is rumored for the summer camp like Jin, not like fully leaving to go to Orser. She might be idk, but for now it seems if anything were to happen, it’d be temporary

Also I’m the one who suggested Christopher Dean. He choreo’d some of the French ice dancing team routines and the German’s Olympic free skate and I love his stuff. So beautiful. He’d work great with Nathan I think.

Can we just respect what Nathan said to the media at the time being and let the boy enjoy some peace from more media inquiry about his school and coaching situation? The kid is very articulate, but he is also very private and not that media savvy yet, whatever he said to the media is whatever he wants the people to believe. He sure is going to make changes in the future when he think it is time to do it, and will let the world know at the time when he feels comfortable. You can have your doubt, you sure can expressly freely whatever you think, but this is a heavily visited and monitored FF, before he publicly acknowledge something, can we just take what he said as it is?

^^ adam has trained with many different coaches. and moved around places quite alot,
IIRC, Adam was training with Yuna around 2010 with Orser, then moved back to US training with Jeremy Abbot and Alissa in the Detroit camp for some time and then moved to Raf training with Nathan and Ash. So he can easily get choreos with different choreographers.

What are you talking about?!? Anyone training anywhere can get any choreographer. Choreographers aren't exactly glued to the coaches in their rink and therefor the skaters.

Just because someone has trained multiple places over their skating career (which is actually quite common TBH), doesn't mean that causes them to "jump to or have more access to choreographers.

@IC3Rabbit I’m sure you did, we were talking about choreographers yesterday and I mentioned Christopher Dean as my pick so I thought Oatmella was referring to that specific discussion when she asked who mentioned him, that’s all. But glad we agree on Dean, he’s made some masterpieces.

From Nathan’s post worlds Canon interview - he said that he wants to improve his performance quality and expression from the heart - so whatever his programs are or who does the choreo - hope we will get to see that

This is not true with Adam. If you want to talk about someone that has worked with Dickson alot and most recently, then that's Alexander Johnson.

Yes, Adam has done Dickson choreo a long time ago, but mostly it's been Benji Schwimmer (thanks to Jeremy Abbott bringing him into the skating world), Shae-Lynn, Rohene, Catarina Lindgren, Morozov, Cindy Stuart, Camerlengo. He's worked with Dickson like 3 times, more with Wilson.

about Christopher Dean, I don't know much about his work but from the limited programs I have watched e.g. S/M's Free, I think he perhaps is great at choreo pairs or partnering not specific for single. Just my 2 cents.

something about David Wilson's choreo, it need skater to have great SS and blade work to make it really impactfull. this is some impression. not saying it is apply to everyone or programs.
ETA: If you watch Patrick's chopin and 4 seasons you will see how effective those sweeping edges and geogeous blade work are perfected utilized in the programs, and arouse the deepest emotions.

I spotted Ms Grosscup sit with Nathan in those 2012 K&C

a few pros that I think Nathan may have working with David Wilson
1, force him to improve SS and blade work
2, almost guaranteed great music editing and if needed originality,
3, further discover and explore Nathan's dancer quality in figure skating.
4, flow and breathe of the entire program, arch of story telling if needed.
