Nathan Chen

Thanks sheetz for the links, the question is what was Nathan doing at East West Palace? Little bit research on the rink, is that where Michelle's sister Karen at?
Last I heard that's the Kwan family rink? I think he travels to other rinks depending on ice availability, especially on weekends because that's when the rinks are busiest.
The Shibs seems to be heading Japan this week for Heroes and Future, don't know when Nathan is leaving. He probably needs haircut from mom before leaving.
Fans love his hair the way it is right now, LOL. They hated his short hair, and his hair at DOI last year was much longer.

The hair at DOI last year was way too long. What I am trying to say which missed from my previous post is that, his mom does it best so better let mom do it. She wouldn't cut it too short, his hair grows so fast. :luv17:

I saw a twitter picture of TCC or Tutberidze rink, way too crowded there. Just wondering how busy Lakewood is during the weekends. Couldn't wait for the Irvine facility open

Lakewood only has a few hours in the early morning devoted to freestyle on Saturday and none on Sunday. The rest of the time is devoted to public skating and hockey.
And it looks like Lakewood might have been closed yesterday for Memorial Day.

Actually, both. Can you guys believe I'm trying to learn Japanese in anticipation of going to Worlds? I'm scared of getting lost going there by myself, although friends who have gone to Japan (touristy areas) said they managed to get around just fine.

As for 4CC, my one time renting a car to drive from Santa Monica to Irvine was nerve wracking. I'd prefer not to have to rent a car since I wouldn't care about sight seeing-- just staying at the arena watching skating would make me satisfied. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi, for 4CC Anaheim, since Disneyland is near by, you can find accommodations to your budgets. Due to the upcoming OG in Tokyo, the city has been revamped with very tourist friendly amenities and guides/signs in multiple languages, with Saitama on the outskirt logistics should be good. I only hope the ticketing won’t be the typical Japanese outlets where it’s all in Japanese and through lottery or membership system, I doubt it since this is the Worlds, so good luck to you!

Dog park - per Romain IG angle, it looks to be HB Dog Beach, off leash is allowed there and he and his homies have been a few times.

East West Bank was the majority shareholder of the ice rink with Kwan family as the investment partner, not sure if Kwan bought out the bank share throughout the years though.

Warriors in 5 ok 6 to give lbj some respect.

Kolyada himself was keen on working with Arutyunyan. The skater noted that the coach was named the best coach of the US for the third year and feels that this speaks volumes.

“Secondly, the current World Champion (Nathan Chen) is training in his group and it is very interesting for me to have him as a sparring partner in practice,” said Kolyada. “Maybe I can see some new nuances that I don’t know yet. Nobody can know everything. We go there for an exchange of experience. To see something here, to take note of something there.”

wondering if there will be much overlap between Nathan and Kolyada though - Nathan’s July show schedule (thanks to sheetz)

July 6-8: Dreams On Ice
July 21: Sun Valley
July 28-29: The Ice, Osaka
