I think the screws are not fastened when they test new skates, only fasten after skaters make sure blades are properly aligned. I have seen people doing that in skates shop.Neither boot not blade looks brand new though.

On further inspection of yesterday's IGS it looks like Nathan was probably at Ingalls based on the blue border on the ice at the edge of the rink. From photos it looks like Champions has a yellow border.
