I am definitely not happy with the Lutz (he missed), I stepped back on the toe so that I would not miss out on a combo. I definitely need to bump this up to next level, this is not quite where I wanted it to be. But again this is the first of the long season, I have done with more than three quads. Although, I didn’t hit the Lutz in technical regards, it is a more difficult program than I am used to. (on the event overall) I mostly wanted to improve on what I already had in the last competition in improving whether it be adding a new jump or cleaning things up. For the next competition, I will be working on completing the (quad) Lutz.

Wait did he mean he was going for a lutz combo? 4l3t? Had he landed it

I just have to take a moment to realize IdF was two weeks ago, and he’s barely had time to rest from that while doing finals at the same time! I’m in awe of his genius.

Im so glad he gets a good break so he can head to LA and train. There he can focus on his jumps and reinclude his choreography for nationals. I like the layout so far. With this, he can swap one of his final jumps with his 4S when it’s ready.

Press Conference highlights:

He thinks this is his 3rd senior grand prix final :)
He said he definitely didn't do his greatest programs - both short and long. Now to recover as best as possible and move on to Nationals/second half of the season
He was asked about working with Samuel Chouinard - he said Sam was secondary to Marie-France (main choreographer), end section and cleaning up the program was done with Sam. He liked working with them and being able to skate in Gadbois was a great experience
Any chance to celebrate? No - he has to get right back to the books - and has a Spanish oral exam like a day after he gets back
Jackie - you are now 7/7 for 3A this season in competition - why is it so much more consistent this year? Nathan says he's really happy it's 7/7 and it's improved - but he really has no idea (lol)
Excited to go back to California for winter break!
Biggest goal is to improve from his last competition - wants to clean up his SP (now near the top of his priority list) for Nationals and going back to California will definitely help

Nathan also said he didn't know why his 4F was better but I think it's because he's in better shape. You can tell his face is a lot more chiselled compared to earlier this season.

He's just so chill about everything. I strive to be like him. A full time Yale student and GPF champ, the Asian mother's dream.:drama: Congrats!

Did you watch his Yale project? It is so cute and a glimpse of his school life

The falls and edge calls might make him mad and might be contributing a little. The 4fs are stunning to watch. Hope he would get similar goes for his 4lz

His face does look different now than at SA - especially jawline and neck. But I wasn't sure if he has gotten leaner or was the long hair just that unflattering :p

Both 4F were so good!!

aww, my friend just texted me the US figure skating post with Nathan's message and 'I'm so happy for you!'

Congratulations to Nathan and all his lovely supporters here. :-) My father just sat with me while I was watching the medal ceremony and said that the winner "looks quite high and depressed." :-P I'm pretty sure it's all hyperbole, but Nathan did look quite tired and a little out of it. Might be his adrenaline went plummeting down in his final GP medals fanfare. I pray for his health and good grades, as well as a Nationals and a Worlds that he can simply have fun at outside of his hectic school life. Same for all his competitors. They're all amazing, hardworking young men. :-)

Quad king won the gpf :yes2: I literally screamed in the middle of the night because of happiness and pride ! :hap10:

He wasn't clean but still he deserved to win. Also, he was super cute when the music started a bit late.
