Nathan Chen

@Ic3Rabbit, do you know when the sun valley show schedule will come out? Need to find out which week will Nathan be there is he is still going this year. Thank you!

Usually around May. Memorial Day at the latest I think. IDK with Yale if he would be doing the show this year, just going to have to wait and see, even though the schedule isn't always finalized when it first comes out.

little concern, nathan didnt train at all with raf this past week, this could go ok like skate america, or go really bad like the japan open 2018 where he fell like 5x

During JO, he caught serious cold at that time.
I heard he was in very bad condition and everyone worried a lot.
It was quite different sitiuation..

JO he was sick, jet lagged and wasn't training at all. SA was in between midterms and he wasn't training as much. Not really the same situation. He's off school and is training and US nationals was only 6 weeks ago. It's not like it's been months. Though I am always concerned! I hope he does well.

Oh no, but he sounds all right now. He seems pretty confident. I'm sure he's keeping in touch with Raf a lot this past week. And he sounds kind of undecided about school next year? I guess we'll see.

And yay for WTT.

The question of why he stayed at Yale finally answered! :( that he got sick, but feel better that his training has been going well. And since he’s been training the same layout since before Nationals, muscle memory should be on his side.

Really hope he’s now healthy:pray:

And some interview about the next year decision

He has not made any decision yet about how he will combine skating and school next year. "My focus is on Worlds right now. I’ll take summer courses this summer. I’ll talk to my advisors and Raf and other people, but right now, I honestly have no idea" what he'll do next year. Chen added that he sees his skating as very much a team effort, so he wants to make sure everyone on his team is okay with any decisions about next year. He also feels that while he can always return to his education, his skating has more of a definite timeline or endpoint.
