Nathan Chen

The things I dislike have nothing to do with this being the first practice or him being the first skater. 🤷‍♀️

I'd like to know why he changed his 4F entry, though, that was strange (I can think of several possible reasons, but I wonder which one it is)
Well, he nailed every 4F with the new entry. It can be not your taste, but if he feels comfortable and adapts well, that is not the problem.

What the heck is there to be disappointed about? He landed his jumps and kinda just half way did the rest of the program. Seems fine to me. :scratch2:

2nd men's practice for today is beginning soon. Wonder if Nathan will be there.

ETA: Yep, he's there!

The only change I wish he'd make is switching the 3A and the 3lz. That 3A at the end stresses me out. though I realize the 3lz will probably be a quad something eventually.

FS - 4lz, 4F3T, 3lz, 4S, 4T (step), 4T1eu3F, 3A (step)

Jackie said he changed the entrance to his 4F for less setup time - https://twitter.com/rockerskating/status/1349951235466678278

Oh god... I looked at practice reports and somehow didn't register the 4S, so only now did I realise that he's going for 5 quads! :drama: Kill me now...
(And yes, please move the 3A in the end :palmf:)

I don't think the 3Lz is a placeholder for 4Lo, I don't see him going for 6 quads this season (and please never again, not that I get asked).

He has admitted to training a 4Lo in his interviews, the only reason he didn't include it was his success rate.

I somewhat agree with you on his SP practice session. OTOH the fact that he's even attempting a 4Lz 3A 4F3T is probably a sign that training is going well.

Yes but it doesn't mean he's considering including the 4Lo on top of all the other quads. I always assumed he meant in place of (the 4S f.i. or 4Lz).

I still don't like the way his 2nd 4T looks, imo he should clean that up before including a 5th quad...

I think he will swap out some other quads (probably one of 4z or 4f) if he plans for a 4l in the program. It’s simply too mentally taxing to do all 3 of the harder quads all in one program. At least I want him to be able to free up some mental capacity to focus on actually skating the program.

I think it's obvious all these changes are in preparation for next season. Whether he can add 4Lo or not it's good for him to get used to the 3A at the end just in case.

Today's practice begins in half and hour.
