Vera makes what Nathan wants, not to her taste. She’s an amazing designer and can make him the kind of fits you guys are talking about but it ain’t about her (or us). That’s what Nathan likes and that’s how he wants to dress. There’s nothing to be done about it, it just has to be accepted 😂. He won’t change and no one can make him. I’m glad she doesn’t force anything he doesn’t like onto him and only cares about what makes him comfortable rather than what she or others prefer.

Happy Belated Birthday to Nathan. I had a whole post of other skaters/athletes/coaches etc quotes about him from the past planned but life got in the way 😂

I thought he didn't want to cut his curls for 2018 Olympics but had to comply because Vera insisted on it? :devilish:

As of now you are post 20,000, at 10:30pm Eastern/ 7:30pm Pacific Sat. Is something up?

In the link... that looks like it might be Brezina? Whoever it is seems to be making a point.

When will GP assignments come out this year, do you think?

Was Nathan coaching? And who was talking to him, Todd Eldredge?
I think yes to both.

ETA: Wonder if he also coaches on Todd’s sessions now. Or maybe he’s teaching small groups/private lessions outside of Team Raf’s session. Just don’t think he would practice on the same ice with those kids.

When will GP assignments come out this year, do you think?
Hopefully by early June

And to go along with above, a 2018 article about Nathan’s mom that I had not read before:

Nathan nominated on the Good Morning America Inspiration List: Who is making AAPI history right now?

Chris Nguyen nominates Nathan Chen and Ashlyn So

In dominating men's figure skating in recent years, three-time world champion Nathan Chen has shown remarkable skill, strength and staying power on his journey to the top. His blend of talent and athleticism is not only redefining his sport, but is also setting a positive example for youth. All Americans should be proud of his success and the class in which he has represented our country on the international level.

Alysa is also nominated, and more skaters appear as nominators.

Has anyone danced to The Prince of Egypt anthem? This could be good too for exhibition if not one of the competitive programs...

And I think for me was when you're trying to concentrate on the quads usually something else is gotta give. You know the choreography goes out the window, the musicality, cause you got to focus on the jumps. But not with Nathan in this performance. Every single detail of every aspect of the performance was flawless. And it was one of those... I know we couldn't be there, but it's one of those moments of the historic figure skating when I wish I had been able to witness it live.

Not only is he extremely skilled, he’s also so mesmerizing when he performs. Each time I see his performance, I stare in astonishment! His skating style is so smooth and effortless. Each move is full of strength and power, but at the same time, full of beauty.
Stick to the end to hear her call him “Leng Zai” (Cantonese for “handsome guy”) 😆

[A step sequence] can never be perfect unless you’re Nathan Chen.

Nathan and his Apple watch featured in Japanese wristwatch magazine. They refer to him as a "top celebrity"!
