Nathan Chen

And a new profile from Teen Vogue: https://www.teenvogue.com/story/figure-skater-nathan-chen-profile

He offered some thoughts on Kamila:

“There [are] so many different factors and variables that [played] a pretty substantial role in this decision,” said Chen. “It's hard…I definitely have a lot of empathy for her and everything that she's been through. I know, it's been extraordinarily tough on her. But bottom line, we need to have a clean sport.”

Take that vacation, Nathan:

For now, he’s ready to have a little fun. He’s traveled the world for skating, but has never been on a real vacation. He’s also ready to take some risks; in the past he hasn’t been able to try skiing or snowboarding in fear of injuring himself.

Nathan (and the rest of the US skaters) now confirmed for both the Tokyo and Osaka stops of SOI.

I think I'm seeing him on the last SOI stop of the whole tour. Boy I hope he isn't going to be super tired at the end of it all LOL

According to a post Olympic survey Nathan has received a huge bump in popularity since the Games.
While no member of Team USA became a household name, figure skater Nathan Chen, who won one gold and one silver medal in Beijing, achieved the largest boost in awareness and favorability among the American public. In the post-Games survey, 40 percent of Americans indicated they have heard of Chen, up from 27 percent prior to the Games. The 48 percent increase put his awareness on par with that of snowboarder Chloe Kim. One in 4 U.S. adults said they have a favorable opinion of Chen following the Games, up from 15 percent before the Games.

Nathan's homecoming with Mom featured on Japanese TV

People Interview:

He has a picture with Raf with the gold medal. "Did Arutyunyan smile in his medal photo? "Perhaps with his eyes," Chen quips."

Also about his backflips:

"I'll do a quad [jump] in a show, and no one really reacts. And then I'll do a backflip, which is significantly easier, and they go crazy. So at the end of the day, I'll do that because it's easier and people like it better."

People Interview:

It was an interesting read especially the part he talks about how his siblings support him in different ways. Now I know Janice and mom are like-minded which I kind of suspected that.

I wish I could literally, physically, tattoo or brand this gem on my brain:

"As time goes on for us, it's always just these little baby, baby, baby steps, you know? And every single day you're trying to change a little bit and get a little better and get a little bit better. And then there's another setback. And then you try to get a little better and better. And this just goes on forever, basically." - Nathan Chen

Here, for all of skating-dom - and the readers of People Magazine - Nathan has dispensed an incredible gift of wisdom that has made him a golden champion in sport and in life.

We don't deserve you, Nathan! But we're so glad we have you to be in awe of. And so, so happy to witness you enjoying your victory lap.

Does anyone else think that Nathan will go back to his Mozart program for Worlds? In an eerie way, the somber nature of that program could become a very fitting piece considering the war in Ukraine... except for the mashup at the end of it. Do you think Nathan will think of making some changes to make it more thematic? How cool would that be to be able to so easily switch his program and make it fit the moment right now.

Family Feud sounds really cute. I'm sure videos will be shared. It'll be awhile before it airs. Celebrity Family Feud isn't airing right now and usually starts in June.

OMG?! I love Simu! He seems like such a great guy! Although I don't think he stands a chance against Mr. 800 On Math SAT and the NASA scientist. (seriously save some talent for the rest of us )
