I got a call night before last from a telemarketer. He was so funny --- "I gotta talk fast - I won't have a job tomorrow!" I found him so personable I actually said "All right, what are you selling..." UGH!! Tickets to a country western music jamboree. Boy did he get the wrong number. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/ohwell.gif ALT=":\">
His last comment as I thanked him and wished him luck was a plaintive "No-o-o-o - don't hang up! The tickets are only $18!!!!"

Since filing a complaint is easy and takes a minute, maybe people will be doing that quite often. I'll bet some telemarketers will still try to call. As for Caller ID, many of them don't show up on it at all (even though it's illegal for them - to hide their number like that, if I remember correctly). If you want to file a complaint you'll have to take the call and ask for their number or/and name of the company.
Btw, did you have many calls from them on your cell phone? I've just bought one and I don't know if I should put this number on the list as well (I guess I should, I just don't want to give it to anyone unless I really have/want to).

I've had a cell phone for several years now and have never had a telemarketing call on it. I don't think they are accessible since they are unlisted phone numbers. I registered mine just in case.

I been on a no call list for about two years and it's worked.
I've never had any on my cell. Most of time before the no call list if it showed up on caller ID as unkown most likely it was a tellermarketer.

I already had mine on the Kansas list and it is supposed to automatically go on the fed list. I received about 3 calls after that and I turned them in. I don't know what happened after that but I have not received any for quite a while now. Of course, you will still get the political and charity calls as it doesn't apply to them. And if you don't know it, most of the ones that call for firemen and policemen keep 90 percent of the money. If you want to donate to them, do it directly. Also, if it is someone you already have been doing business with, it doesn't apply to them either. It also doesn't apply to collection agencies. If my caller id says unknown caller, I just don't answer it. If they really want me, they can leave a message.

I know. I hate it too. I make two types of charity contributions: I give to my local National Public Radio Station (hey, I listen to them for more than an hour each day - I owe them!), and I make contributions through my synagogue. The latter is good because they always collect for specific projects; and they can always account exactly for how they have spent the money, and how much of it (usually almost all) goes exactly for the cause they have been collecting for.

I know. I hate it too. It seems that people so rarely get those calls on their cell phones that I've decided not to register my cell number.
Btw, I know that cell numbers are unlisted, but there's a way to get around that (as they do with any unlisted numbers); they (some machine, that is) just dial random numbers till they get "a live one". If I'm ever gonna get a telemarketer on my cell, I'm going to tear them apart. The nerve! We're paying for those calls.
