National Styles & Choreography Trends

I agree, except Yosida/Morita have both RD and FD choreo done this year by Scott Moir's team (Madison Hubbell/Adrian Diaz).

Yes, I know. Although I didn't say anything about who choreographed their programs. But maybe it sounded like I implied it was Cathy? Anyway, to make it even more "confusing", they switched back to their "Rise of the Phoenix" FD from the 2023-24 season, which was choreographed by Massimo Scali. I would like to see them bring back their Turandot FD next season, though. :)

Mei Okada's (placed 3rd) Meito FSC might be around not much longer than that. I came across a Meito FSC home page that was launched in 2020 (not updated since then) and Google says that Miki Ando became the head coach of Meito FSC in 2023 but I can't verify either of this information.
Meito FSC is the club led by veteran coach Yuko Monna in Aichi.
Miki Ando and Mao Asada started to skate there in late 20th century.
Hana Yoshida also trained before she moved to Kinoshita.

Thank you!
It's a shame that open sources have so little information about this club.

The old home page that I found stated that the club was lead by Yuko Monna who was the head of the Japanese Skating Instructor Association at that time (2020) but it told nothing about the club's history.

I understand that the club is based in Nagoya. Is it somehow related to the venue where the approaching GP Final is about to be held or is it another ice arena?

The venue for the GP Final is the brand new IG Arena in Nagoya, it was just officially opened this year for entertainment and sports events.

Nagoya coaching teams should be frequenting some of its biggest rinks either in Nagoya or in Aichi:

- Osu Rink (Nagoya Sports Center)
- Howa Minato Sportsland
- Moricoro Park (within the same complex as Ghibli Park, so it's a bit out of the way from Nagoya city center)
- Chukyo University's Aurora Rink at its Toyota campus (former National Training Center until Kanku Ice Arena is appointed, available for all Chukyo school students, also available for Toyota affiliates)

Nagoya interestingly has not hosted Japan Nationals nor NHK Trophy in a while. Their last skating big event should be the 2017 GP Final, also before the Olympics.
