NBC interview with Alysa Liu in SF

I am trying to stay on n even keel. So far Alisa has had one great, amazing performance in her comeback. Is this enough to make her the Olympic favorite for next year?

Well, it doesn't matter. Sometimes the favorite comes out on top, sometimes it doesn't work out that way. It will be a heart-pounding season if everyone performs up to their capabilities.
I certainly wish the best for her. As far as being an Oly favorite, I dont know if there is such a thing. The main thing for her is she doesnt care. And that is Healthy. I will keep my geo-politics out of this one as far as what the ISU is doing to the olys this cycle so I dont get thrown off this board. I will only say we have the best ISU that money can buy.

You mean all this time for 20 years we could have just purchased a championship?

This is the most thoughtful and honest interview yet. About her falling out of love with skating at 16: "Everyone was telling me who I was." She just wanted to be herself.
