I guess the cheesefests are dead as semi-serious competitions. Oh well, I suppose it will be a pretty exhibition.

Contrasted with the Japan Open later this month, this is a sad effort. They should have left out Sasha if she didn't want to compete and invited some international junior and senior stars.

What used to be cool about the spring Marshall's was that it was a chance for revenge for the skaters that got edged out by their rivals at Nationals and Worlds. I wouldn't mind seeing Johnny against Evan, Mirai against Caroline and Lambiel against Joubert for "last laugh rights." Bring in the Japanese and you're on to something.

This is the new American travelling ice show for testing purposes. It's not COI, it's not SOI, it will be the American Podium Skate Fest starring non international gold medalists.

If the rating are high, we will see its opening in Detroit and then travel the venues of COI. But then, if the ratings are not high .........

I never thought of it that way. I hope you're right, especially about the Detroit part!

Well, at least the price is affordable ($15 low end). However, that may also signify an assumption that the event is not predicted to be a big draw.

Looking at the article, it says the event will include exhibitions, but does not say that is ALL there will be. Perhaps there will also be a competition.
