The only problem with the competitions being on my timeboard is that I have got into the comfortable habit of doing my predictions on a Friday night. Obviously, this is not so comfortable when the competition actually starts on Friday night.

Just finished watching the Cup of China SP's, and I really wish I had seen them before making out my NHK Predictions.

SOOOO many skaters doing back to back GP's. :drama:

I can understand why (well, if they're in that part of the world for one competition, they may as well do two), but that must be gruelling doing competitions on consecutive weeks.

I know it is logistically easier for the ISU to have the 2 competitions in each continent back-to-back with each other. But for the skaters wanting to do their 2 GP's in the same continent, I think it would be better to have a competition somewhere else in between.

The worst of it is that all of this week's skaters that I saw at last week's competition performed a lot better or a lot worse than I expected.

This is going to be my worst scoring week of the Senior GP Predictions Game. I just know it. And to think it could have been avoided if I had caught up sooner. :disapp:

After SP in ladies 6 people are leading with 65:

Weathergal
Gia_Sesshoumaru
Lydia1703
ssffww
sabinfire
cer

If the current placement of the skaters holds sabinfire will be the undoubted overall leader as skylark's bets did not play ideally.

I have mighty 20 points. My only chance to move up was to bet against Anna. Well, I am glad that she has dismissed my bet so far and hope she will keep on going strong. I love her winning gold here much more than my good prediction score.

I like to watch dance when top pairs are skating. Still for me it's more kind of gala than sport. Well, I am ignorant to see the difference in technique unless someone falls or misses twizzles. But the prediction game results speak for themselves. Ladies and men are unpredictable - in dance the top three are basically known beforehand.

I know. After Duhamel / Radford, I hadn't a clue what order to put them in! :drama:

I wanted a Chinese couple on the podium, so I went with the established partnership rather than take a risk on the new partnership.

And for the third position, I was dithering between Vartmann / Blommaert and Kayne / O'Shea. But, I went with Mari and Ruben because I was so impressed with how well they did in their first season together, and hoped that they would continue the progress this season.

But that was before I saw their Cup of China SP. :drama:

And, unfortunately, because I had already decided to put Peng / Jin in 4[SUP]th[/SUP], that dropped Kayne / O'Shea to 5[SUP]th[/SUP].

I just entered the Ice Dance predictions into my excel: same, and more same, more than two-thirds predicting as follows :)

And I just noticed - where on Earth are my Dance Predictions?!

I am seriously getting fed up with this mouse. When you are highlighting long things, it keeps resetting the selection. Sometimes I notice, and sometimes I don't. I got caught this way with the TV schedule post, and now it seems with my Predictions as well.

I know they won't be scored but, just for the craic of it, here is what I had put down for Dance:

Ice Dance

1. Gabriella PAPADAKIS / Guillaume CIZERON, FRA
2. Tessa VIRTUE / Scott MOIR, CAN
3. Anna CAPPELLINI / Luca LANOTTE, ITA
4. Victoria SINITSINA / Nikita KATSALAPOV, RUS
5. Kaitlin HAWAYEK / Jean-Luc BAKER, USA
6. Anastasia CANNUSCIO / Colin MCMANUS, USA

Just for fun
7. Marie-Jade LAURIAULT / Romain LE GAC, FRA
8. Natalia KALISZEK / Maksym SPODYRIEV, POL
9. Kana MURAMOTO / Chris REED, JPN
10. Emi HIRAI / Marien DE LA ASUNCION, JPN

The galling thing is, I was pinning my hopes for a decent score on Dance. :bang:

Oh well!

I'm going to have to pay more attention in future, by the looks of things.

...or else get a new mouse. (I think I will have to anyway, because quite often nothing happens when you click on something).

Right, going to start into the Cup of China Free Skates now and get as much watched as I can before the ski jumping segment of the Nordic Combined comes on.

Yah, you're basically right.

As it looks so far, most of us underestimated V/M and their tremendous work ethics. If the results will hold up tomorrow, we will have 7 perfect scores and a ton of silver medalists.
