it’s funny how we all get shocked by Africans at the winter games when, for example Ilia Malinin trains in the northern Virginia part of the Washington DC area which weather-wise is more south than part of the northeast. We hardly ever get snow.

I grew up in Oklahoma which is hot and flat enough to be Africa but briefly took figure skating basic skills lessons!
