The ESPN commentators have talked repeatedly about them fighting a lot in practice, and in Russian articles Vasiliev has stated that this has been one of their biggest problems. Apparently it's better than it used to be, but they're still not the warmest pair towards each other.

That's very sad to hear. I really think they have a lot of potential. Right now I like them more than K/S. But if they don't work on these issues they will become another wasted potential...

Their bickering was one of the main reasons neither Moskvina nor Dmitriev stuck with them. Vasiliev has introduced some strict discipline into their training - if the fight, they have to do lapses around the rink; during the Summer camps, it's lapses around the lake. He also makes them go out to restaurants together. They say it has helped a lot.

Ouch, Volosozhar and Morozov were kinda sloppy. She definately needs a new pair.

I agree. How many partners can he go through! For me, the last straw was the Europeans, when he just got up and left K&C leaving her there alone. I mean, Shabalin didn't do that, and he was in real pain! In the article I translated after the Europeans (http://ptichkafs.livejournal.com/30457.html), Werner talked of his dismay of their coach's loyalty to this skater as well.

I had only watched it a few weeks ago becuause I DVR'd it. I was like who is this jerk that just walked off. And she just sat there like it was no big deal. I don't think I like them very much. What a horrible attitude. Can't wait to see it on ESPN...tomorrow night I think is when they start!!

Wow Rena and John are guarateed no lower then and 8th place finish. Not bad for it being their second or third competition of the year. I think the US will keep their two spots in pairs?

Lasso into star lift variation, this is an area they have improved a lot
Throw 3S (I think), very nice
Death spiral, slows after change of hands
Lasso lift, he really has gotten much stronger
SBS spins, in sync, fast, nice positions
Throw 3Z, hands down slightly
Spiral sequence, line doesn't match as well as some other pairs
SLSS, very graceful
Dance lift into star lift into carry, very pretty
Pairs spin, good speed, both directions

That was world class. Even with the crappy audio on the Turkish feed, that gave me that warm fuzzy feeling. I would not be surprised at all to see them over P/T and it would be deserved.

124.12 - 192.78 sends them into 1st. Lower PCS but significantly higher TES compared to the Chinese.

OMG, really?! Jessica landed the 3Salchow? They should have a new season's best in the LP if that was their only error! Oh, I am SO THRILLED for them!! *hopes for a medal*

Wow wow wow wow! D/D were fantastic. Finally they have a clean SP and LP. Jessica showed her grit and toughness fighting to land that second throw triple jump just now. Wow! Is it too much to hope for them and P/T to medal? Probably, but what a pairs championship this is becoming.
