and

Gold: Sarah Hughes

No, though they nearly repeated the same order at 2001 Worlds (Maria was 4th; Sarah Hughes 3rd).

The only person I can think of who was rumoured to land the 3axel in practice was Surya Bonaly. The other two 3axelers, Harding and Ito, actually landed them in comps. So if Surya has bronze... and is silver Witt? I know she posed for playboy, and competed in lillehammer. And I think the same applies to Szewczenko? (I can't remember if she apparently posed or not.) Gold - I'm guessing Harding, Kerrigan or Yamagchi. But I have no idea what the podiums are from, if any of these skaters are right. Lol

This one is driving me crazy! I too was thinking the 82 and 86 Worlds, those are out as they were only 4 years apart, and Witt was the runner-up both times. I shouldn't think it would be THAT hard to find events where Witt was 2nd (and actually Tanja S. wasn't 2nd in things that many times either) but every thing I can come up with, the gold or bronze medallists don't match.

Am trying to come up with a few "parallel podium" brainteasers of my own, but I am finding THAT very difficult as well. I am pulling out my whole archive collection (and pretty soon my hair as well! ) but I am determined that I am going to come up with SOMETHING.....

This is difficult! lol. Okay, so the two silvers are Witt and Szewczenko. 11 years apart - well, Witt was second in the 82 Worlds wasn't she? Although I can't remember who won. Was it Sumners (an American girl)? Don't know who would be 3rd though. If 82 is right, that means the second podium is 93. Szewczenko second, an American (Kerrigan?) first, Bonaly third? I have no idea what the competition was though.

Am I close, at all?

I won't give up the other one yet LOL. Think of the final clue. It'll help. I think only two women landed the 3A in the 80's. One was Midori (and that was in competition), and the other was rumoured...although there are videotapes of her landing them in practice... =)
