Peacock admits mistakes....

For all of you with Peacock, did they take down the Olympic Figure Skating replays?! Replays are available for every other sport, but nothing for skating! I’m totally livid right now because I wanted to watch the RD on my own time, but it’s gone, along with team and men’s events.

I contacted them through chat only to be told “it isn’t available and to check back later” despite nbcolympics.com advertising the RD replays on their site. WTH happened?! This is total false advertising.

Yes. Of all the sports, right? Ridiculous.

I am having this problem tonight, trying to watch replays. I was also given the generic "unavailable" message.

All of the replays seem to be gone? Why?
Only a guess but it may relate to music licensing issues. Since K/F got sued for their use of a cover of "House of the Rising Sun," NBC/Peacock may have taken them down in an abundance of caution. As I understand it, broadcasters pay a blanket licensing fee for music used in live performances. OTOH, replays may be more restricted.

I'm not an expert so again, this is just a guess. And yeah, it sucks a lot. :(

I doubt it. I was still watching various replays of the Tokyo Olympics when they started disappearing. I contacted Peacock about it. They had nothing useful to say. Not long after all the replays ended up on the Olympic Channel.

I just checked and while the Bejing replays aren't available, Pyeongchang, Sochi, Vancouver and parts of Turin are available. I would expect the Bejing ones to be available in due time.

I noticed all Olympic replays were gone yesterday as my mom was using my account to catch up on Pairs and she paused, went to do other things and then went back to find “replay not available” on that or any other video. I’m definitely going to send them an angry email before canceling, I wanted to watch some other sports as well as the gala (though at least I was able to find the gala with my VPN via Finland TV coverage)

What’s really weird is that the replays of every other sport are still up!

I also wrote to Peacock to inquire.

Maybe I made so many complaints on Twitter about it they decided to take the FS replays down to fix the glitches  What was happening is the 2nd tier subscription I kept playing the replays over the weekend and the ads would always stick after each skater and I'd end up refreshing for the next skater performance, then an ad happened, then I refreshed, then the ad glitched and glitched and wouldn't stop being a broken glitch and wouldn't go on to the next skater....and then they broke me so I signed up for the 3rd tier and have almost no ads, there are still some but they run for a split second and they don't stick like broken records that I saw on the 2nd tier..... I swear this makes me miss Ice Network or NBC Sports Pass, never had this much trouble. Even wish I could go back to those days because the streaming was ONLY focused on figure skating, ISU skating, and NOTHING but.

The entire category of FS is gone. That means all the FS events prior to and including the Olympics are also missing. When did this start?

Not sure but it had to be maybe Monday or Tuesday was the last time for the Olympic replays? I think I last tried to watch a replay on Sunday or Monday of the Ladies Free Skate. Good thing I caught it before it disappeared. That's weird. Normally NBC keeps replays up for awhile until Paralympics starts. I just checked again, looks like the Primetime replays are still there but not the full only figure skating ones. But that is bad if they took away ALL of the figure skating stuff before the Olympics, am still behind on some of those events. I think I'm going to email them too to complain, not like it will help or anything!

I contacted them about it today, and all they would say is "the content is unavailable" after making me try manually searching for it for 20 minutes. I am not impressed.

Just happened to check and—good news! Skating coverage is back up!!!

Never underestimate the power of skating fans :) I bet they got an earful!

ETA: I spoke too soon. The icons for each comp are back up—but when you click on them, it says “Replay Unavailable.” So—I still don’t know what the heck is going on

I have tried reaching otu to them multiple times and they keep ignoring my contacts (they used to be good about texting me back). If this wasn't free for me with Comcast I'd cancel my subscription. I wonder if they'll have worlds like we're promised.

I wonder if they got threatened with copyright infringement on the music? There doesn't seem to be any other reasonable explanation. That should have been addressed before the Olympics started, though.
I don't think the one lawsuit against NBC and Knierim and Frazier would be the reason they took ALL of the figure skating down? Maybe NBC and Peacock don't think it's as viable as the other sports, which is a shame...OR...they have so much content on their Peacock plate they sacrificed figure skating replays for bandwidth for other content? I really have to look into getting a good VPN so I can drop Peacock altogether. Peacock is a travesty compared to what Ice Network used to be. Maybe NBC will relent and let Ice Network be reborn? Because currently Peacock is a huge disservice to true skating fans. With Ice Network, as least they had all ISU skating events on their website for a few months so fans behind in viewing could catch up...even like synchronized skating, etc. etc. I'm sad. I sent Peacock feedback the other day and didn't hear back from anyone yet. Hope all the feedback didn't go into a black hole!
