FWIW, I just looked at Proton's pay plans. If you want to go for one month, its $10. Same as Peacock. If you want to go for a 12 month commitment, its $6 a month. When you use a pay plan, you get up to 10 computer devices covered., storage, email, malware protection, yada yada yada. I am thinking about trying the pay plan for one month. The events look fine right now, if not as good as peacock. But there is no buffering circles either. The gala looks a bit fuzzy when the spotlights are not on the skater, but very watchable. I dont know how proton would know if you let one of your GS friends use your password and try the pay plan....

With Proton, VPN only is $6/month for the 1-year plan. If you want everything it's $10 a month for the 1-year plan.

They air all GP events live and on demand on their Youtube channel. If you are in the US or Canada it will be geoblocked. You will need to come in via a VPN.

I apologize in advance for my ignorance but could anyone please show me how to watch the replays on Youtube channel. I downloaded the free Proton VPN and am connected to the Netherlands yet when I clicked on the ISU link it asked me to sign in Youtube. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Thank you!

You don’t have to sign into YouTube - I usually don’t. once you sign in with vpn, refresh your screen so that you get the isu page for the Netherlands. the YouTube icon may have a country designation as a superscript - for example YouTubeCA for Canada.

I just changed my location to the Netherlands and was able to login so I know it does work.

I have used this before too. I get a nice connection usually - it’s usually nice for German events.

I'm kinda upset that NBC advertised that they would do a highlight of all the disciplines but when I went to my DVR they only had the women's short and the rhythmic ice dance for three hours of coverage. I know you all are doing VPN and websites but the highlights used to and should at least do the top three of each discipline and both programs. Next Sunday it's only an hour and a half. Can anyone that still has peacock verify for sure that Skate America isn't available for replay? I will restart my subscription if it is.

I subscribe to Peacock. For other reasons, now. Skate America is NOT available for replay on Peacock.

That's why we are all discussing VPNs.

Minz, thank you again for all your help and your kind offer! I really appreciate it. So far, so good, but I'll let you know if I have any questions that crop up later.

I used Opera before at someone's suggestion on here a while back and fortunately didn't have any issues. But with my new laptop, why take a chance if I don't have to? I wasn't aware of the issues with Opera or the better alternative of Proton until you and moonvine discussed it.

I'm always grateful for all the shared knowledge from my fellow GSers!

See post #279. They also have a super Proton plan which doesnt sound appealing. Think I will try the 10 buck a month plan when the first GP comes along in the middle of the night in Spokane...for reference.

I have to amend my comments - I was able to watch ISU Skate America recordings all weekend, and I think early in the week. But I can't access them now?

Assuming you have a VPN installed, where is everyone watching these events? A YouTube search only yields a few events in their entireties and the ISU site sends you to IMG where you must register for access. Am I missing something?!?

You will not see the skating events until you eneable the vpn outside of USA and refresh youtube, then the events will be unhidden.
