I’ve used the free version of it. There is some reason I wanted a paid version which I can’t remember now.

So, unless I stay up in the middle of the night to watch live feeds of competitions overseas in distant time zones, I will not be able to watch any figure skating at all on Peacock this season? Why bother? Even if it's a domestic competition, not all of us can watch when the event takes place. I'm supposed to take time off so that I can watch live competitions like Nationals that partially occur during the day when most people are normally working?
I assume these competitions will air tape delayed (and incomplete) on NBC or one of its other networks. But, with the forthcoming demise of The Olympic Channel on October 1, what other channels other than NBC can this air on? USA maybe? Has the 2022-23 season TV schedule been released yet?
Has anyone tried to reach out to any of the journalists (Jackie Wong, Phil Hersh, Christine Brennan, etc.) about this?

When I read the article about the Olympic Channel going away, it mentioned that NBC would put stuff on USA, Bravo, and occasionally CNBC. I forget which channel gymnastics showed up on recently, but I know it was one of those three.

Can anyone verify if the ISU actually puts up replays of the major events? I understand it will be geo blocked in the US, but in the past have replays of senior GP, GP final, Europeans, Worlds etc been available to the rest of the world?
If they are, then I should at least be able to use my VPN to watch the replays?

single videos go further back, playlists are there for the last season, probably they always keep them for ~1 year?
I agree how many people can rearrange their schedule to do this. It is ridiculous. It seems like NBC wants to make it almost impossible to watch figure skating in the United States. I am fed up up with dealing with USFS and their inaction on something as basic as making sure that the content is available to watch. I think that it may be time to start writing he ISU and see if they can do something needs to be done and I really think that the ISU may be the only power that can force NBC
I get everyone's frustration but do you really think an organization that's bleeding money has really any bargaining power to go to a media company and force said media company to likely have to spend additional money to be able to having streaming rights for competitions?
They may have more power that you think. They could sue for breach of contract because I am assuming that this was a part of it. Also the ISU could just take over and do it themselves and make almost the same amount money they get from NBC by monetizing replays on Youtube and put up reasonable pay walls for live streams of the events at least in United States and maybe other regions of the world. as well. I agree it not a permanent solution but al least it would buy time so the ISU can fine a better home for the figure skating coverage than NBC because I think it only going to get worse because it seems that NBC treats all Olympic sports like either like filler at best and a joke at worst and the fact that they can not figure out how to do something as simple as getting the rights for replays so fans can watch the coverage at times where they may be up. The fact the people are seriously talking about VPN's just to watch the Grand Prix events is ridiculous and something needs to be done and I just do not think USFS can/will do anything about it so it may be time for ISU to take over and see if they can affect some change because it can not hurt.

The ISU has other things to deal with than one country not getting replays. It's extremely frustrating for fans, but the ISU likely isn't getting involved. It's between NBC (the US media company, and USFS).

Then we can complain to Peacock. Figure skating fans in the US are aging rapidly. If they want to attract new fans said potential fans need to be able to watch. They won’t be getting up at 3 am or taking off work to do so.

This reminds me of how during the Olympics, NBC played ads immediately after every single skaters performance. It was during the time the skater was taking their bows and we see their interactions with their coaches and reactions to their performance on Olympic ice, as well as replays. Of course there was no notice that they would be doing this and the problem still persisted with premium. There was also no commentary as there was in previous Olympics. I had to scramble to get my VPN and find coverage elsewhere despite that I paid for the coverage. Do they not understand that replays are literally part of an event?
NBC is garbage. Their coverage has been going downhill for a couple years now. At this point they basically cease to exist to me as far as skating coverage is concerned. So I have nothing. I guess the solution is to access the ISU’s content via a VPN.
Also it’s completely bogus that the USFS/ISU allows them exclusive rights to the US Classic since that event functions as a part of the Challenger series and has competitors from around the world. My understanding is that only US viewers had any access to the event. Completely unacceptable and selfish for USFS to hoard this event.
The ISU really needs to get their act together and make sure that the Challengers are available to fans since there is a lot of interest and sometimes the fields are as good as senior GP. I don’t really understand leaving it up to federations with events of this caliber. The scores count for the SB, and since Senior GP is invite only it is often the only chance to see skaters from smaller federations compete for a higher SB/WS. There should be official ISU coverage.

Why didn't they give us advance notice? Even U.S. figure skating should have been shouting this from the mountaintops weeks ago! No, they are trying to do this on the sly. That's why Peacock is offering the generous discount this month. They realize if they had revealed ahead of time that there would only be live streaming of fs, it's just not as attractive for what we as fans have been used to having.
This is completely unfair and egregious. I blame U.S. figure skating and Peacock! What a great way to grow the sport, idiots! Why can't you just be transparent, accountable, open and honest with fans?? That's all it takes. Nope, you ignore the needs of fans and take us for granted.
Not everyone can watch live, but if they had at least given us notice well in advance, I would have been prepared. I wouldn't like it, but I could have rearranged my schedule with foreknowledge. At this juncture, I'm looking to cancel or downgrade. Peacock got a lot of money from me for years and especially this year with no Olympic fs replays, and no sp pairs replay for Worlds. And now this rotten surprise at the start of the season. It sucks!

Does anyone know what the best VPN is for Android? How does it work in terms of setting it up to watch ISU events?
Meanwhile, are any videos available at all of the recent non-archived event? U.S. figure skating should have got involved to offer fans alternatives to this straight-jacket season on Peacock. It makes no sense.

here's my question, why can't NBC do with figure skating as they did with gymnastics?
USAG used to put full NBCSN broadcasts up on their youtube channel free for viewing. they are still there. they didn't do this last year, but they had their own videos of each gymnast on each event filmed by someone else and put up for viewing on their youtube, for free.
gymnastics, especially on the national level is no more popular than figure skating. casual sports viewers don't watch gymnastics or figure skating nationals unless MAYBE its the olympic season. not to mention there are full NBC broadcasts still up on youtube of 2022 nationals posted by other accounts. why was this possible for gymnastics but not skating? why can these broadcasts be left up but skating can't?

There are a few fan cam videos I believe. I saw one of Pate and Byes Free Dance if you want me to dredge it up.
As far as VPNs go, Proton VPN has a free option. Nord VPN and Tunnelbear are also good. I don’t know which is best for Android as I don’t have Android. You just install it, set it to a country that gets ISU coverage (as opposed to having its own coverage; I use the Netherlands) and you should be set.

Try using the Opera browser for VPN. Someone here suggested it, and it works well.
