Pet adoption stories

Cats do that deliberately to make a formal complaint about something Human did wrong. What had you done or not done? 😾 (Either that, or you had expressed a lack of enthusiasm about cats and he/she was telling you the feeling was mutual 😼 ;) They do that, too.)
I actually believe that. I really got along well with the cats, personally. But lock up your wife, your dog, and your cat in the trunk of your car and see which one is glad to see you when you open the trunk....🐕‍🦺

Remember, tick season is here. Always carry tick tweezers, and learn how to use them. Never touch a tick with your hand or flame or ?. It only makes them regurgitate into the host. Grab them with the tick tweezers only on the head and twist. BTW, I am not a fan of all the youtube vids on how to remove ticks. The easiest and safest pair of tick tweezers have a curved solid end that is very fine so you can grab the tick as close to the body as possibe. I will post a pic.

I have tried them all and this is the only tick tweezers I will use. No chance of accidently squeezing the tick. I have a cousin who has mild permantent damage from a tick desease and a friend who almost lost his carrerr as an airline pilot due to ticks.

Your wife and dog equally, probably, because the cat will be outraged and they won't be able to get out of range as the cat tries to fight its way free :fear:😨 :angry3:

(BTW, I love a nice friendly dog, as long as it belongs to someone else who will do all the walking and cleaning up and bathing, and take it away if it gets noisy. Rather like my feelings toward grandkids. :love4:)

Actually, the wife wont be happy as well as the cat.

Its National Adopt a shelter pet day! Bless them all.
This is interesting...the Dutch got it right. (Holland and the Neatherlands are not the same, BTW.
The Netherlands is widely recognized as the first country in the world with no stray dog population on its streets. This was achieved through a comprehensive strategy involving massive spay/neuter programs (CNVR), strict animal welfare laws, high taxes on store-bought pets, and high adoption rates, rather than euthanasia.

Key Components of the Dutch Success:
  • CNVR Program: The Collect, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Return (CNVR) program was a major factor in sterilizing and vaccinating stray dog populations, preventing further breeding.
  • Strict Laws and Enforcement:The government implemented strict laws regarding the treatment of animals and increased penalties for animal cruelty and abandonment
    .
    • Animal Police: The Netherlands has a dedicated Animal Control force that investigates reports of animal cruelty and collects stray dogs.
    • High Taxes on Breeder Dogs: Taxes on buying purebred pets from breeders encouraged citizens to adopt from shelters.
