Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Thank you, Ximena for the latest information about Plushenko! I am a little worried about his frequent missing practices. Hope he will be fine and keep healthy.

So many skaters came back which has made me lose my original focus on whom I would root for - so many my favorite skaters. One thing I could be relaxed, and I believe that Plushenko would too. That is that unlike any other come back skaters, Plushenko has already had an Olympic gold medal in his pocket. So if he can get a medal, no matter what color it would be, I will be very, very happy for him.

can Plushenko honour us with his presence?

Hey, folks, we are supposed to keep the thread going while senorita is on holiday:-) Have you all travelled to far far away as well???

At the moment I am quite worried whether Evgeni will be able to skate in competition at all. First he complained about a cyst, and now he was injured again. :-( Thank God he was able to skate the 2nd show in Korea, but I wonder how his body shall be able to endure the strain of a competitive season. At this point the hard training seems to become too much already. What do you think about it?

OMG, I just saw Evgeni's SP Skate at the 2009 Super Match, which took place yesterday, and I'm in awe, that's the honest to God truth. See here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPHWC9ZImCY

I choked up when he did the 3Axel without effort (reminds me of the Blue Angels, whom I'm watching outside my living room window right now), and the death drop was pure poetry. Not to mention his quick footwork gave me goosebumps, and just think, this is only an exhibition, a warmup in essence for the real thing. I'm in awe.

Evgeni Plushenko skates with the gods, what an honor, to be surrounded by their presence...

Wow! Thank you so much! That was a complete program and he skated like a champion considering now it's just August. He has 2 and a half months to add harder jumps in and polish it. The shape is there and the footwork section was great! Will he have a quad in SP? ...
Probably, it would not like to him that there is no quad in SP
In the camp in Germany he practiced 4-3-2 combination  ... more about thtat:

I watched this video earlier today and liked that 3A. Also, Zhenya's sit spin seems to get lower in position these days. ....
... and not only this - what's the speed in the spins!
And jumps! ... although he was skate with injury - amazing will!

Otherwise, on the show he skate and "Tango" at the opening, but television cut and broadcast only half a show's :scowl:

Pics and etc.... ;)

P.S. and I will, instead of absent seniorita to say: King is back!

Thank you so much, Plushyta, for all the updates (they are greatly appreciated). However, I don't know about anyone else, but I have been unable to download those files you posted, thus I searched on www.youtube.com for the Super Match. And not only did I find Evgeni's, but everybody else that skated as well! :)

Here they are (btw I noticed all the men only 2 triple jumps apiece, with Evgeni being the *only man* to do a 3Axel):

Evgeni Plushenko (only man to do a 3Axel)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPHWC9ZImCY

Tomas Verner (loved his Michael Jackson routine!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnpm2au0bU8

Alexei Yagudin (skated to "Luna", gorgeous music)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3A8BvfJeuk

Evan Lysacek (innovative unique program, I enjoyed the opening music to the White Stripes)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaW9Ks5Kuls

Jeffrey Buttle (he had problems on his jumps, nice disco routine)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m27VOAC7ZWE

This was an enjoyable show, great opportunity for the skaters to stretch themselves, and a warmup for those skaters that will be competing this upcoming Olympic Season!

Lol, I'm so excited about this Olympic Season that I'm searching for any tidbit, be it shows or news or articles.

Evgeni is a smart competitor, he knows his body best, he knows how to build, how to pace himself. I have complete faith in him. When he skates I can relax, and just enjoy the show.

P.S. Plushyta, can you please translate what Evgeni said in that one interview about him & Lambiel's comebacks? I would be so grateful. Thanks!

Plushenko's sit spins

Plushenko's sit spins are still not good. He just bends over a little and spins. His sit spins are like Brian Jouberts, really crummy. I hope someone else will win medals at the Olympics. Plushenko is still a great skater but I believe there are a few who are better, having the whole package. The better sit spins are those where the skaters butt is closer to the ice.

Me, not a fan. In fact, I'm veeery far from being one (and never was, and never will be). But when I watch him trying to improve, I think it's a good thing. At least he knows he's gotta work hard. I hope the best guys will medal :) And as to the whole package, there isn't many of those is there?, b/c everybody seems to have a problem to deal with. Also, Plushenko used to have some nice and tough combos.

There were also several skaters at the last Olympics who had more of a whole package than Plushenko. Those may have been able to get their butts closer to the ice on their sitspins, but unfortunately their butts were also very close to the ice on their jump landings.

And if Plushenko and / or Joubert deliver clean performances with maxed out jumps and quads at the Olympics - something those "whole package"-skaters seem not to be able to do, I will be very happy to see them on the podium.

medusa lol!
hi all:)
i have one hour to watch all the stuff here and i cant.
I read kiwi's report from EPD and it made me smile, just wonderful.

My heart moved to the right when i read that he was injured:eek:

I watched chopin and tango from youtube from the Korea show,
tango link

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0s-3oU8Sqc

i have no opinion for tango yet cause I cant stop laughing with the video, Korean audience and fans are so great, they scream in every jump and move, so cute and so warm, but they scream so much i cant hear the music cause I had to put the volume down, anyway i will watch it next hours!
A, and i loved the Forever Tsar light crowns they had!Korea people are just adorable!
plushy looks good, any news about his injury?

spins he tries but i feel like he is in pain..i need to watch again, chopin is not much of chopin but i liked the sp a lot!Very plushy!

Hm, no one is not complained that it can not download files from there ... that you not have some firewall turned on? :rolleye:

You do not hear Plushy's english, below german commentators? I do not know german, and only can paraphrase Evgeni ;) :
- he meet Lambiel's after 2006 in many shows, and always told to his friends and coach, that is Stephan would return for sure.
- his motivation to return? He has already taken all the medals ... but why not, why not become one more Olympic champion, if he can?
- between the Olympics he is performed on the many shows, and even has performed and on Eurovision... It's interesting, but to him is need a competitions, him missing the such adrenaline.
- he is in good shape currently, jump quadruple jumps, "his" combos, the programs are almost ready ... all around him - coach, choreographer, everybody look forward to see him on good position on competitions.

Plushyta, again thank you for all the latest updates, especially the interview of Evgeni! :) I am & was unable to download any of those files (some took up to 8 minutes to download, but then a message would pop up saying I needed to have a certain program installed, etc.), including the interview, which is why I kindly thank you for your help.

As always, I wish Evgeni all the luck & best wishes for the upcoming Olympic Season, I'll be rooting him on all the way! And I'll be back when he returns to competitive ice in October. Can't wait!

Lol! You are right, Medusa! Let`s hope for an encore.

How could you allow that Plushy topic falls on the second page?!
 I see that Seniorita play someone "last" serenade :boohoo: .... :p
