Polina Tsurskaya

Yes, I hope she puts her combo in the second half. Looks like Maria Sotskova will do that as well. Any news on Elena Radionova?
Or,maybe ISU won't give extra points for the jumps made in the 2nd half.
In this way,we'll see a beautiful performance, not all the jumps in the 2nd half and in the 1st one nothing spectacular.(I'm so glad that Polina doean't need this kind of triks ir jumping with the hans up).Her jumps are amazing.💖💖💖💖💖

Since Polina’s birthday is aproaching, let's cheer her and send her our wishes . If you like to participate, you can send your wishes / kind words for Polina to this address:
[email protected] or to me in a private note.

You can send text messages, but also pictures, collages, etc. if you like. The deadline for any contributions is 15th June 2018. I think it’s a great idea to support her after a season which was not easy for Polina and led her to decide for a big change in her professional career. So if you like her and have a bit of time to write down a message for Polina, please join.
Ps. Thank you so much to ewdokia who is very kind and helps me to popularize this event.

I‘m so excited for the new season! I just hope Polina will be able to fight Masha for Russian #3 spot. Masha already had her chances, she made a lot of experiences this year, she was at Worlds and OG. Now it‘s time for Polina to shine!

And why not 1 and 2? I don't think she is lacking somewhere. If injury free of course.

I will be satisfied if she gets the 3rd spot.. ;-)
And GP Final would be good too, last year it was very close....

Because she - objectively - doesn‘t stand a chance at becoming either Russia #1 or #2. Alina and Evgenia just won OGM and OSM. They‘re a lock for the first spots at least until the quad girls turn up. It doesn‘t mean she‘s lacking somewhere, just that she was injured at the worst possible time and couldn‘t go to Worlds or the OG. She needs to prove herself to even become Russian #3, which I hope she does because she‘s amazing but taking away the spots from Alina and Evgenia would be impossible and I don‘t think she‘s aiming to do that. They‘re stars all over the world and while she‘s a very talented skater and has won some medals, she yet needs to gain the reputation the other two girls have. Which she‘ll have a chance to do so this season. Radionova and Pogorilaya are really a question mark, Gubanova and Panenkova (could) stay in juniors. Tuktamysheva might have her 3A back but we don‘t know how stable it really is and how she‘s progressing otherwise. Her and Sotskova are the only real threats. She can manage to beat them, though, if she skates clean and gets programs that suit her. She‘s very artistic and her jumps are beautiful to watch. Her only problem could be the injury making her more prone to falls and being inconsistent. Let‘s see and hope for the best. :)

What do we bet we'd find very similar posts from 4 years ago, where Yulia would be Zhenya/Alina and Liza Tuk would be Polya? ;) I wish neither of Zhenya or Alina anything bad, and it is very likely they'll stay #1 & #2, but you really never know.
And honestly, I doubt Polya - like every skater out there - puts in all this work to be #3. Just remember what Javi said - his goal might have been to "only" medal, but you train, you aim for gold. A lot of competitors are like that.

Well, the potential is there and I really hope she will make the breakthrough this season, because otherwise it might be too late.. we must hope she will stay healthy, focused and work hard... :cheer:

I understand what you say. Of course, we never know what might happen in the future but I was primarily talking about next season. We don‘t know what the situation‘s going to look like in 2, 3, 4 years. It might be totally different than we imagine. But for the upcoming season, Zhenya and Alina are probably almost „safe“. They have the Olympic medals in their bag. And I daresay that Yulia Lipnitskaya had a different mindset than Evgenia for example. She was emotionally exhausted, probably battled anorexia far longer than we even knew. I‘m not trying to say Polya can‘t manage it - I sincerely hope she does - but that we need to be a bit realistic. Of course she wants to win - like you said, everyone does - but I think she needs to focus on her health now. Slow steps! Get new programs, try to have stable jumps again, work on skating skills. But gradually, slowly, so she doesn‘t end up injured again. And then focus on making the team. And then the medals may come!! :)
