Polina Tsurskaya

Is it guaranteed she’s going to Buyanova cause I don’t think that’d be a good change considering how many pupils she is taking on and her limited results. Hope she goes to Plushy or Mishim ad they could really help stabilise her jumps and get her gd programs

It's not like CSKA is a better option than Sambo.
Buyanova always looked creepy to me :scratch2:

At least if she will be in CSKA she will have chance of going to Europeans/Worlds. She was third Eteri girl, and there was no way federation would give 3 quotes to Eteri. I just hope that Polina will stay healthy and injury-free. Goood luck to her.

It's better than Sambo. Aignt no result worth the hell Eteri's puts them through. Abuse is never okay especially for a result. One day that place will be exposed. Like I said earlier, if she talks crap about them in public, what do you think does on in private?

No matter, if Polina has been kicked out or made decision to leave Eteri by herself: I’m just very happy she escaped Sambo hell. Hopefully in a physical stage where she can still continue skating. THANK YOU SKATING GODS! GOOD LUCK POLINA! :yahoo:

If Buynova takes her after experiencing with Adian in which condition kids might end up at Sambo, it’s real courage and I’ll bring her chocolate or flowers each competition I’ll meet her. And I’m sure she will do everything to help Polina. Just like she tried everything to cure Adian’s back, but it was just too late. Once she takes a student, she fights for him / her. Heck, she even took Maxim Kovtun back to give him a 2nd chance.

Yes, that's one good thing about this move but otherwise..... we will see, I sure hope she will stay healthy and make the Russian team next season. But let's face it, leaving Eteri group is a step down, no matter to whom she goes.. IMHO...

Why a step down?
When Eteri gave her the attention that she deserves?

Apparently both. She was told to get lost but not for real, it was more like "go away and think about your behaviour". She chose to take Eteri at her word instead, which Eteri is not too happy about. With the Eteri vs. Evgenia thing right now the atmosphere in the group is, um, tense.

Serves her right  Wonder if Polina brought Eteri flowers? Cause you know how she hates when they leave without flowers

I think those who see medals in their immediate future will hunker down and wait for the storm to blow over. Polina didn't have enough going on there to put up with that crap.

You're probably right about the attention, no arguments here, nowhere else will be better skaters than her. We all know that if she were from any other country, she would be a big star, after all, which is very sad. I just meant that leaving the best group in the world with the best coaches (and no matter how much people here badmouth Eteri, that is a fact, otherwise girls from her group wouldn't be absolutely dominating the rest of the world) simply cannot be step up.

I don't want to argue,either.
I gree that in this group there are exelent trainers, like Sergey Viktorovich and Sergey Alexandrovich on technics and Daniil Markovich is a great choreograph, but this is not enough. Not to mention the "head"who takes the decisions( everybody knows who this person is) .
When you work with people, is very important the relationship bethween them (coach-student).Attention, understanding, supporting.
A team is working together. And Polina felt that they aren't a team anymore. At least Eteri could let her to train with one of the coaches. She always had a good cooperetion with the 2 Sergey.
I would like to know all the fact that determined her to take a such big decision, but I'm sure she though a lot.And she assumes what she decides.

I don't think it's a fact. Eteris group is by far and away the most successful when it comes to young ladies right now, but she has zero experience with non-teenage girls, and isn't doing all that well with men in general. These things might change, but as of now, Eteri is the best coach for a specific group of people - not for everyone (like it's the same for every coach). To me, Polina doesn't fit into that group, barely did at any time point, and given how tall she has become and how she's "older" already, Eteri might very well *not* be the best coach for her anymore.
(And I'm saying best coach here purely in terms of results. If the rumors about how she treats her students are true, no results make up for it)
And ofc I can only speak for myself, but I personally like Buyanova and her coaching style quite well. She pays good attention to good basic skating skills (Adelinas were great, Masha has improved under her quite a bit), manages to package their skaters pretty well all around and looks generally very supportive. Polya moving to her makes me very happy, and I think it was a smart move for her in every way. Hopefully she will stay healthy, be happy in CSKA and her & Buyanova will have a lot of success together

(Also, Polya and Masha seem to be really good friends, and I'm happy Polya gets to train with a good friend now too. They're a cute tall & super long-legged skating duo :love: )
