Looking back at this recent world champ, it is getting more and more apparent that triple-triples are needed, especially in the SP to pull off a podium finish.

I think trying a T.Flip-T.Toe might be risk for Rochette atleast in the SP since she's been cold and hot with the flip jump in general this season. How about trying a T.Salchow-T.Toe instead, along with a solo T.Flip. She has one of the best Salchow's in the world, and I think she can pull this triple-triple easily. She use to do D.axle - h/lp - T.Salchow sequences as well as T.Flip - h/lp - T.Salchow sequences, so I think a T.Salchow-T.Toe is very possible. In addition this gives her a 8.5 point value, higher than the standard T.Lutz-d.toe combo, and closer in points to the combo's that skaters such as Mao and Kim are pulling off. In doing so, perhaps Rochette can use the T.Flip as the solo jump, hence leaving out the Lutz in the SP. This might be a good choice since she tends to be more consistent with the Flip anyway. I think it's all about playing it smart yet finding points, and I think this is a good possible SP set-up for her. What do you guyz think.

good idea, but Joannie seemes to have the probelm of over thinking her elements, so might turn the second jump into a double, leaving her with much fewer points than if she did teh tripel lutz double toe. but yes, i see your point, these ladies have t think outside the box insteadof just going a along with teh usuall 2lz, 2toe.
