Practice Sessions at Nationals

I am thinking strategically about the dance event. Unless a disaster happens, spots one and two are taken. Z/K have moved ahead of G/P due to Michael's injuries and because they have been quite consistent this year and everyone felt they would've been third last year but for health issues. My quandry is with 4-5. I actually think B/S have improved and stabilized this year, even though the programs seem the same. I also feel that because they started with another miscue, that some do not want to trust them. The stunning speed with which they skate and the likeability of both programs puts them ahead of G/P whose programs do not have staying power, no matter how much I like them as people or how much I liked their previous work. Green &Parsons are the safechoice - not prone to errors and trusted by the judges. I put B/S above G/P in my predictions and these are the reasons I did so. The Browns are right up next because their skating skills and musicality. They are learning how to compete with older, taller, faster skaters as seniors and they have taken some hits in trying to force improvement. They are coming into their own and stabilizing. I expect solid skates if they just do their own really, special thing.

I totally do not rule Browns out - if they figured out FD a bit more AND others will have some bumps, they could actually sneak on the podium and I would not be surprised.
Zingas/Kolesnik I feel have more "universally appealing" programs (I'm a fan of that FD in particular) abd have the biggest chance out of several teams there. Yet, Green/Parsons could surprise or Bratti/Somerville...
Last year Z/K shocked with their 4th place podium finish and I think led to Jeffrey Chen getting yet another partner. This year I think they're slotted in 3rd or 4th..we will see.

I'm still on dance, do we have commentary for men's.

No commentary
Jimmy Ma just reeled off a perfect quad to his flamenco music. and a flawless 3LZ-3T. OMG I love this festive take on the Flamenco - classic Jimmy. this should bring the house down.

Jimmy has never been so close to a major team berth and I want him to skate really well to have that chance, so even if he doesn't get it want him to know he did everything he could to get it.

Big band music for Daniel Martynov, who is not here.

Next Emmanuel Savary skating elegantly to slow music. I love his skating and want to see his program. He has removed his sweater and has a Captain America shirt underneath.

Jimmy Ma is done and leaves the ice.

Chen mention made me go back to post with practice groups and realising that he was in the same group as Katarina Wolfkostin...

Please God. Find your feet.

What's a bunga pad? He says I should get a helmet and knee pads. I have to do it now, JL says he thinks I should absolutely do it.

Bunga Pad is a brand name for a silicone pad covered by a wrap material. Excellent for any spots where boots rub too much and make your feet hurt. I wore one that was sock like to protect my ankle bones and under the tongue of the boot. Without them I often had bloody feet that could get dangerously infected. Life savers they are.
