Simultaneously tense and loose and distracted to me... hopefully he's OKDid Nathan just shake his head a couple of times? He seems a bit off.

Yes, every time he makes a mistake, he shakes his head and is clearly very annoyed with himselfDid Nathan just shake his head a couple of times? He seems a bit off.
It's one thing to be critical of yourself, it's another to put so much pressure on yourself that you get really mad at every mistake. You need to finish a program and then criticize yourself. Nathan used to be fantastic at recovering from errors, but I'm a bit worried now. I hope he's not getting so caught up in the bad that he's ignoring the good.Yes, every time he makes a mistake, he shakes his head and is clearly very annoyed with himself
Yuma has the same problem. Doing a 4Lo takes a lot of speed with little flow out, and then a 4S after requires speed into the jump. So you have to really work to build up speed regardless of what happened on the loop, which is really challenging. Long story short, doing a 4Lo then a 4S means a lot of 4S popsShoma pops his first two jumps, but is rocking everything since—crowd is into it
Indeed. I´m wondering if he suddenly is feeling a lot of pressure because he took a break from Yale to concentrate fully on figure skating and OG. I always admired him on how he did manage to go both to Yale and be the worlds best figure skater, but maybe it was easier because he concentrated on other matters as well and didn´t feel so much pressure. It's one thing to be critical of yourself, it's another to put so much pressure on yourself that you get really mad at every mistake. Debi Thomas stated that she regretted taking a break from Stanford to train for the Olympics full-time and that it messed with her head. And that it put too much pressure on her, since she didn't have her studies to turn to. Could be with Nathan, too.Indeed. FWIW, I was sitting in the front row during Friday's pairs practice and overheard Trennt telling Brandon "The ice is much better today" as they skated by.People are talking about the ice being too hard as the culprit for all the problems, rather than the rink size.
