Evita has only fairly recently been able to return from a very serious leg injury, so I'm happy to see her finish her first routine without major errors.

I just want to point out her first attempted combined BD - This will be counted as two BDs, as the second rotation (penche) was done on flat foot.
And during one of the Rs, she missed one of the criteria she usually performs (passing through hoop).

She's actually the first gymnast from Laos to compete at the Olympics if I remember correctly.

Lots of little readjustments and getting stuck on the hoop, plus the almost drop at the end. Better than Euros, I guess, but she won't score like at Euros here (she better not).

Edit: Maybe it actually was a drop? I think the hoop touched before she was able to grasp it. Might be a borderline case

Takmina showed one of the few combined BD with heel support allowed in between - Balance+rotation (in her case both side split with upper body at horizontal).
Came close to having to put down her hand during the penche.

Pretty low score for her (she's scored almost 35 points with the ball earlier this season).

Wait, I just saw the replacement ball and it's such a pretty shade of purple And the hoop is silver.
Still, hoping to not see them used on the floor today or tomorrow.

Aliaa has lower difficulty than most of the gymnasts contending for the final, but she did well here.
Egypt isn't a strong country in rhythmic gymnastics, but it's always nice to see more country representation globally.

The whole Bulgarian team should have stuck with their original leos, literally all of the new ones are not as good or much worse
