Sadly Rostelecom Cup wasn't Rika's best outing. But I don't really think that one competition changes anything for her. Even if she doesn't make it to GPF, she won't stop improving and bringing this drive and energy! I don't care about her posture, her energy is what brings me into her skating. The way her face lits up during the step sequence :luv17:

I wonder whether they were so sure she'd make it or someone with no clue just confused her with Mao, since I guess there're not many figure skating savy editors in Spain ....

Sadly, a fall and, apparently other mistakes (including edge call) made her get a 4th finish right after Mao.
It's sad, but the good side is that she'll go to World with her and Satoko, with her GP results and Kanako being behind in 6th.
The season is far from over. Keep fighting Rika!

She's still going to Worlds? Oh, thank goodness! I saw 4th place and thought - I didn't know if Wakaba was age-eligible or not (not following juniors) - that this was it. And after Liza, this disappointment was just too much... Thank goodness we'll have Rika there then! Go, Rika! She'll come back fighting - I'm sure of it!
